Do all S2 Xantia have alarms?

Should my 2000 W reg Xantia 2.0 HDI 90 have an alarm?

It was 8 years ago I had my last Xantia - an S reg 1.9td, however I seem to remember it had a sensor or switch by the drivers door?
This one doesn't. The key fob doesnt work, so I am just using the key in the door to lock/unlock.

If it's for your Xantia VIN ending 291, then no - according to specs, there is no anti theft alarm fitted.

Yours is an SX spec. So was probably available on Exclusive trim or as an optional extra - as I've checked several SX S2s and one has and one hasn't - so definitely an option it seems.

I had the system on my SX (1999) 2.0 110 HDi.

I believe that all UK spec Xantias (maybe not 1994) had alarms and deadlocking as standard, but not any other market. It just goes to show that the UK has the smartest thieves in the world, or maybe the dumbest insurance companies that demanded it.

I’d guess that no Spanish Xantia has an alarm. Not any other car either. I’ve never heard a car alarm in 12 years!!! Tis bliss.

neither of my C5s has had alarms, immobiliser only.
