Hi,
I'm after some advice please. I'm trying to remove the metal camshaft cover from my 16v hdi and it won't budge.
As far as I can see there are no missed bolts. It's the cover that the studs that hold the injectors screw into.
I've been told that there's a gasket type sealent used on them.
How easily should it lift off? I don't want to force it too much and risk damage.
Engine is in the vehicle so a hammer and drift is not really viable if they are a bit of a pig to remove.
I need to have the head off as the cam belt stripped teeth at speed.
Also a second question. The chain between the two camshafts doesn't seem to have any visible different coloured links to do the timing that I can see. The timing is all out. Any advice? Are there marks on the sprockets when I do get it apart?
Thanks in advance.

Nothing special listed...
Timing - there should be 2 black marks on the chain, but if the drawing is right it's just 6 links between the marks on the cams.

Thank you very much for that. Most helpful.
I'll just persevere. It really doesn't seem to want to come off.
