I've just bought a year 2000 (X) 206 2.0 HDI and spent my first weekend replacing the cambelt kit and water pump which was fun, not. It had done 113,000 miles on the original and the belt still looked excellent although the water pump was leaking badly.

Help please : I cannot find a diagram showing these lamps as I need to know if there should be a rubber/neoprene seal or guard in the set-up. My lamps are full of rainwater which has leaked in during the 6 months that the car has been parked up. Anyone know a site which has this info please?

A mate of mine has a 206 (1.4 HDI, '57 plate), and the EML, ABS, STOP and airbag light all come on, and the speedo doesn't work. This is symptomatic of the ABS ECU failing, and this was verified by a garage with a diagnostics scan (although I don't have particulars about the codes).

haha ur not wrong lol!! but aswell i had little time and weather kept changing so i just got on with it quick as i could..i started at 1 finished at bout 10 after bleeding etc...tbh it wasnt that bad to do EXCEPT the wireing loom thats screwed onto the back of the dash...had little access and took me a while to get to the screws while it was half...

I've got a Bosch injected 2.1 TD 605 which has been having running issues. The problem quite literally happened overnight.
It idles okay but won't rev above 2000/2500rpm even with the throttle lever pulled back all the way.
It hesitates a lot while revving.
There is excessive black smoke coming out the exhaust.

I have a 206 1.9D with a WJZ engine, which put a piston rod out through the block. Ouch!
As I am not a diesel-head I searched for another WJZ engine and found one in an old Berlingo. Not much car left but the engine was humming sweet.
Then whoops - the diesel pumps were different. The original one in the 206 is a Lucas (R8448B182C / DPCDWLP12)...

My puggy 406 se hdi 2.0 has esp light on dash ,had it plugged in diag machine wont communicate with abs ecu,also states fault with rear left wheel speed sensor which has been checked out ,that's fine.
BUT Esp light still showing ,is a 2nd hand one easy to change over?

Altanator belt rattle sound

My altanator belt has a rattle sound. If I put water on the altanator belt if clears. Also if I rev lightly it clears then comes back.

It's had a full cambelt kit with a new altanator belt.

I think it's a pulley but not sure which one that's the problem. There must be way's to see which one it might be?

Up until today, I assumed my car had an RT4.
I updated the firmware from 8.0 to 8.2 (to help solve crappy usb mp3 playback), and suddenly I have fully functioning bluetooth.

Mine doesn't work so satnav goes flat :( According to the handbook the fuse is F23 but it obviously isn't as this is only a 10 amp and it all right anyway, I can't find any failed fuses. Any suggestions?

For a while now I've noticed that my windscreen has a tendency to mist in one particular area:

Is this a sign that the heater matrix is leaking? The car doesn't seem to lose any perceivable amount of coolant. There isn't any odd smell but it does take the AC a while to shift it. Most annoying.

Not been on here for a good while, but I'm now having problems with my daughters 306.
it starts but cuts out 100yards down the road, it will restart but does the same afterwards.
it has also stalled on tickover and was very hard to start after.

I have the kit sitting here ready to go, i am planning to change it on Saturday, has anyone got any first hand experience on these conversions, i did read somewhere else but cant find it now that i will have to order and change the clutch fork is this true and if so what Peugeot model clutch fork do i need, i don't want to strip it all down...

From what I've read the Xantia HDI 110 doesn't use a DMF, whereas the 406 HDI 110 does.
So this would suggest that the 2L HDI 110 was not disigned around using a DMF.
Plus the HDI 90 do not use a DMF either.

Just out of interest do the Xantia and 406 HDI 110's use the same gerabox, can a Xantia clutch and flywheel be used in a 406 ?

I have removed the lower arm and removed the old P bush as well. But I'm just wandering whats the best way to get the new P bush in the right position to go back in right.

I know the right way around it goes in but getting the angle or amount of turn right is the main problem.

Hello All,

I have a Peugeot 406s 1.9 2003 estate 130k. The internal temp gauge shows a temperature approx 5 degrees below actual temp. Its not a deal breaker with the car..but would like ideas as to how to fix!

You can pick them up on Ebay. I think they're listed as 406 temperature sensor but fit most models. I bought one for my 307 which was intermittently doing it.

The seller is somewhere in Eastern Europe but there's no issues with customs or postage.

I had my tracking done 8 months ago. But I will be fitting my new peugeot partner P bushes on my 306 hdi. I'm just wandering does it make a difference to the tracking?

yes it can and will,

it is always recommended to fix/sort all/any arm bush and swivel joint issues before having tracking set up/adjusted,

i would have the tracking done after masking sure you have no other suspension joint issuse,

preferably NOT by a National tyre/exhaust center

I have a 307cc 2.0. When it's ticking over and the throttle is blipped there's a sound like a blow off valve on the end of the throttle body, is this normal?

I find myself needing to change the clutch in my Pug 405, 1995 'N' reg, XUD9B 1.9 engine, Diesel normally aspirated. Suspect knackered pressure plate. PAS and A/C equipped.

I have a faint recollection of there being a rare but nonetheless existing wide ratio gearbox / final drive (BE3) unit for this engine, which might assist even more relaxed...

Was going to say changing the rolling radius (if that's the right terminology) will effect the speedo but its allowed to be 10% anyway as far as I'm aware, so you might be OK but it *could* go too far, as Mark's said a satnav etc should point out if its going to be a concern or not.

206 2.0 petrol oil leak

I have recently bought a 206cc 2 litre petrol with just 40,000 miles.
I noticed a small pool of fresh looking engine oil on top of the gearbox casing, on closer inspection there are signs of oil as high up as the inlet rocker cover and on the right hand side of the engine.
I removed the coil pack and it looks like there may be a leak from the...

Very interesting. I've been tooling around in mine quite a bit; found a fault with the brake pressure switch (it doesn't revert promptly to closed circuit) so the suspension thinks you're braking at road speed, and stays hard. Of course the switch is NFP. :roll:

Unburned fuel probably. Is air filter clean ?

Check the main air hose between filter and manifold too (the big one you can easily pull off) that its not collapsed inside. They normally split on the outside though due to the bend in them and people tape them up. Just check its not blocked or collapsed internally. :)

Front headlamps problem

My front headlamp on the driver side wasn't working properly so I cleaned the connections up and it worked ok after that.

But then today the full beam sticks on the passenger side and the driver side only goes on side light.

So not sure if its a fuse or some thing.

Hi all you MOT experts. I need your advice please.
I have a 2001 806 HDi. I use the car mainly for camping trips (but also for everyday use). I'm on my own so only need one seat for me. So, if I take all the other seats out, and seat belts, will this be ok for the MOT?
