306 ph1 1.9dt heater matrix just blown help!!

my bloody heater matrix just blown and i need the car desperate as mrs is overdue baby and could be any time!!
any tips or help would be amaising!!

would bypassing it with pipe and crimp it abit work as i read about the restriction?

You could bypass it but you don't want to be carrying a bairn around in a freezing car Taffy. Come and borrow the C5 ffs if you don't get it sorted quick.

yeah i know couldnt have happened at a worse time! im gona have to for now but looking on ebay the matrix onlt 15quid ah thats very kind of u mate but i cant as she could go any time and hospital 15 mins away...just gona have to get a taxi back with little one WHEN he decideds to show his face lol!! thank you so much thou mike thats really kind of you

You could be here and back in two hours..... Twyford station... cheaper to run than taxis. I'll even stick a baby seat in it..

I gather this is a very unpleasant job on the 306. I had mine bypassed for a couple of weeks with a bit of 22mm copper pipe, no ill effects, although I can understand why this might put the cooling system "out of balance". Apart from the freezing cold it's a right s**t keeping the windows demisted, no fun at all If you have the offer of alternative transport I'd take it, as this won't be a quick fix I'm afraid.

yeah im not looking forward to it ive managed to bypass it with off all things a oil breather 90 degree fitting...ive got it up to temp and pushed it and it seams to hold well...yeah its not the best but untill baby is here i cant really strip it...ive managed to borrow one of those 12v heaters which plugs in the ciggy lighter which seems to do ok...mike is so kind bless him i just gota stay put right now as it could be anytime lol!

When mine went I stuck a piece of 15mm copper pipe in the hoses and jubileed the ends.
