406 Hdi cigarette lighter

Post by Peter.N. »

Mine doesn't work so satnav goes flat :( According to the handbook the fuse is F23 but it obviously isn't as this is only a 10 amp and it all right anyway, I can't find any failed fuses. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Are you certain it doesn't work Peter?
My forward lighter socket is just slightly deeper than the rear one and some items have difficulty making proper contact. The satnav only does in one position, you have to rotate it until the tell-tale lights up. Some things won't connect at all , like the phone/mp3 charger.
All work perfectly in the rear socket.

I've sorted it now, I was looking in the wrong fusebox  The book only showed the under bonnet one and although I did look at the dash one I didn't see any blown fuses, at least no sign of burning, when I got out my microscope and read the numbers I eventually found fuse 23 which was actually open circuit but with no sign of burning, just a little gap in the middle. Thanks for your comments.
