Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

I know on previous visits to the factors I've noticed head gasket 'pour it in and we guarantee it'll do the trick' type applications available, the one I have in mind comes in a yellow / green dayglo colour bottle (couldn't tell you what its called)

Car : 53 307 2.0 Petrol

So my car started to run erratic on idle for some time now but was not noticed in accelleration, until now.

The car feels like it is jerking with power on/off all the way through the powerband.

The engine is making a loud tappet noise , oil and coolant levels are good and run OBDII test highlighted no error codes but...

Does the 406 V6 suffer the same gearbox maladies as the Xantia V6 can? I know they're the same engine and box, but I believe from tireless research done by Simon and KP, among others that it's oil cooler issues that is the big worry. I imagine it gets full of external crud and stops cooling so well? Is the cooler in a similar place on the 406 and...

I have an '04 206 HDI with an accelerator position sensor at the pedal (my previous 206 had a throttle cable running to a sensor attached to the airbox). I've been thinking about making a cruise control system using an Arduino microcontroller hooked into the OBD port and intercepting the accelerator signal.

Really? I read somewhere on the internet (I know, a reliable source) that it would require a bunch of extra wiring through the firewall to the ECU and stuff. In any case having an Arduino in the car hooked up to the OBD would open up a word of interesting possibilities.

We have a Peugeot 206 which got a little damp !!! and we have started to work on it.

Its a 1.4 hdi.

We bought a scrapped 1.4 hdi and used the BSI , key , ignition and ECU and are getting various items to come back to life.

However, the car has now adopted the Kilometres of the crashed...

hi

i have tried searching but cant find anything exactly like this problem, but apologies if i have missed it

i have a 54 reg 407 sw 2.0 diesel, and it keeps losing the sync on the remote keys (i have 2 and it happens to both of them)

to get them working again i have to go through the soft reset procedure, which works fine, both keys then work...

So I retired my 405 a few years back, but it's been on my driveway ever since. I've decided to turn it into a project for when I have spare time. At present, it's more or less a bare shell. I knew it had rust problems, but the more I stripped it back, the worse it got. List of rust:

Its possible, I'll admit I'm not that up to date on the later ones however I know a new one has to usually be coded in via Diag2000 or Diagbox etc.

Had the same on my 106 (as it was a really late one it had the RF plip) , easy to just code in though.

I can't see the code being needed unless you plan to play with the immobilizer as its separate...

Hi have a problem with the speedo and gauges illumination lights and heater control lights all went out together. The warning lights, gauges, speedo and rev counter all work. Its the base model no pwer steering or electric windows dont know if anyone can help.

Check fusebox, its possible you just have a blown fuse.

As its a base model I doubt it has a dimmer on the panel lights but even then that would probably not dim the heater panel etc.

I have damaged the rear offside door on my 2000 pug 306 Meridian 1.4 (5 door - hatch) which has electric rear windows.

I have been offered a rear offside door with manual windows. Seller is to far to go and see before collection but seller insists door shell is the same and al I have to do is swap interior trim panel and change winder mechanism....

Likely to need pop riveter to swap and replace regulator unit. Watch for the annoying plastic clip on the glass (front ones have it unsure of rears).

The door shell is the same however. Obviously hatch/estate/saloon doors are slightly different.

Ok, so we all know the problem of the engine continuing to run after the key is removed, my 406 started doing this today :evil: A few days ago it also started taking 3-5 seconds of cranking before it fires. I know it isn't plugs as these have just been changed, and there's not the customary cloud of smoke when it's a plug issue. No smoke, so no...

Dear FCF members
I have a 407 Coupe. Driver (right side in my case in South Africa) now only lifts up 50mm every time I activate the button, even if I hold it. Previously it would go up all the way for just one button action.
Left window is still like that. The window rolls down in one session.

Can someone recommend an effective and inexpensive heat shield....

....to ensure that my bottom coolant hose remains undamaged while welding the inner OSF front wing close to it?

Or do I have no choice but to disturb it?

Having had all sorts of expensive and frustrating head gasket issues on this car's predecessor I'm paranoid about...

My 2004 , 407Sw 2,0 HDI starts then runs for 20 secs. Then stops. I have changed high pressure fuel pump, filter, changed the fuel and bled it all thru. I even disconnected the turbo inlet pipes, but it is still the same. Can any one help please? Thanks, Trevorharr.

A friend of mine has one of these, it has an intercooler so I assume its a 110hp one, I haven't driven it but he says the performance is dreadful, having to change down going up hill etc, he has driven others which he says go much better, his father has a 90hp 406 estate and he says that is much faster.

He had a replacement turbo outlet pipe...

It could be one of many things, and throwing parts at the problem is the wrong way to go.

Check out the Lexia/Planet map and find someone close to you who can do all manner of diagnostics to see if there's any faults logged (not all faults put on the Engine Management Light) or read live data of the car.

(2004 307 SW 2.0 HDI 110)

I have the above fault, on PP2000 it shows as 'Permanent fault difference of exhaust pressure' so I took out the pressure sensor and there was a little water in it so dried it out but cannot clear fault so I will need a new one.
I looked at the readings and got this:

pef inlet/outlet pressure difference 118 mbars...

Should be zero if the engine is not running. Might be a couple of mbar at idle, rising to about 50-60 at 3000 rpm. Suspect the sensor has had it. Surprised a 2.0 110 has a DPF but you learn something every day.... :)

its had the FAP removed and remapped as well as the EGR blocked and removed fully any one that knows the 307 110 setup know there ar boost hoses on the rear

Hi Folks,

The speedo on my 2001 DW8 powered Peugeot Partner doesn't work and hasn't since I bought it.

I have swapped the Speed sensor/transmitter for another one which I know definitely works, but when I tried it, it was still the same.
I haven't checked yet is the trip works when driven, I'll have to try that and if so, I'm guessing it's...

New on the forum, and from Norway. Please be gentle when explaining, because my English is not that advance.

I got a 1990 Peugeot 205 1.4 XR with the TU3M KDZ engine (75hp), with only 49000miles on the meter. It looks like it just rolled out from the factory.
Got one issue: The cambelt snapped and it looks like the cylinderhead with the valves...

hi guys hope ur all well long time no see!!
lifes been ok my boys 8 months now and doing good :)
well i was hopeing for some advice as my little 306 is porly :(
went fishing at longleat had a great weekend,on the way back jus getin on m4 and the sound of stones being flicked up happened...the road had no stones :( and suddenly she started to sound...

unfortunatly my phone died so i diddn get any pics :(
i put some tape around my lock bolts to get the timing spot on and was effective
held the plunger with a screwdriver while i removed the tensioner which was like u say jim no problem :)
running like a dream now :)

I have 2003 1.9 406s. I removed the stereo from the car and accidently pulled out a brown wire from the yellow third of the plug in the top plug (yell green and blue) How do I find which one of the 6 ports the brown wire should be located in? All help much appreciated. The stereo is a clarion rd03-01

Its been a while since i was last on, I have offered to help out and replace an alternator on 2003 206 hdi, It seems a nightmare !!! I started by removing the belt but i am stuck on removing the power steering pump and thats before i even try removing the alternator !!! there is nt much space.
I have removed the the bottom bolt from the pump,...

Job done ! What C**P job ! I had to remove the headlight, undo engine mount etc , The alternator was bad for access and even worse to remove ! There is no room in the engine bay with the HDI ! Worst alternator i have changed !!
I am sticking with renaults !!!

Can anyone advise which are the most suitable spark plugs for my 206. I have always used NGK plugs in my cars, but this is the first Peugeot I have owned. I have seen a few comments about using Bosch plugs as they are better suited to the peugeot engine - the Haynes manual recommends Bosch FR7DE. :?

Did diagnostic all these codes came up?? P0104 Flow meter signal. Open circuit, short circuit to positive or earth of sensor supply or signal. P0565 cruise control. U1118 can communication with BSI. U0121 can communication with ESP ECU. P0500 can communication. Help please

The 90bhp version of the 2.0L HDI engine does not have a dual mass flywheel. I don't think you can get any other 2.0 diesel in the Partner/Berlingo. There are two possible injection systems, Bosch and Siemens. The Siemens one does not use an in tank pump. Haven't heard of pressure regulator problems either. Not sure how they regulate the high...

When I bought my 107 back in 2009 (really doesn't feel like five years ago!) I specified a few of the dealer fit cosmetic options. Was my first new car, so I had a bit of fun with being able to make it mine.

When I turn the ignition off and remove the key, the clock, window switch lights and battery charge light stay on but are very dim. with the engine running, I get a reading of 14 volts with everything turned on and 12 volts with everything turned off.

Can anybody think of possible causes, any help would be greatly appreciated.

i have seen a case were the battery/charge light stayed on but dim with ignition off, this turned out to be a bad earth between the regulator and the alternator body

My recently acquired 407 2.0 HDi Automatic (2007 Model) has a strange intermittent gearbox issue. It slips in to neutral between low gears then thuds into gear. Doesn't do this all the time but is very unpleasant when it does!!

A friend of mine has done a nut and bolt restore on a 205 GTi.

When he did the restore he has changed the engine for a Xsara VTS engine. For the electrics to work, it's running a 306 GTi wiring loom and ECU from a Phase 2 306.

The car has a cold start issue where it cuts out unless you keep the revs on until it's up to standard operating...

I need to replace the gear cables on my 806, and I don't have a manual. The top one of the cables at the gearbox end has started slipping off the ball - its been the subject of some heroic bodging in the past, it appears to have been held on by a superglue bottle, which has now given up. I have not found the other one, I suspect this comes into...

I've been fitting new dampers to the 406 this weekend, and notice that the front passenger wheel bearing doesn't sound that great. There is no discernible play as far as I can tell, but it does have a rough/metallic kind of sound when I turn it. Worth dropping off the hub with a trusted local garage to get it changed? But I have not connected the wiring on to the rear lights and 7 way by pass relay as yet.
