Peugeot partner fault help needed

Post by Stoney 3107 »

Hi everyone
I have a peoguet partner 1.6 hdi 2012
First it came up on the dash low oil
I checked the oil and added a little to top up
Then it came up low oil pressure
So I changed the oil pressure switch
Now the van drives for 20 or so minutes then dies
Now says engine fault if I lock then unlock the doors the van starts and drives fine for a further 20 minutes then dies again
Had a code reader on it But not storing any codes
Any advice what to check please

Unless you are using Diagbox or a professional grade diagnostic tool, you are unlikely to be able to read all the ECUs. A third party OBD code reader just won't cut it. If you have had an engine management light put on, there will almost always be an associated fault code logged.

How many miles has it done?
How often has the oil been changed?

The DV6 engines really need to have 3-6k oil changes to keep the oil as clean as possible. More details on my post here with pics concerning issues with these engines:

If your oil pressure is low it may possibly be a sign of blockage, but will need further investigation.

I have changed the oil and filter
There is no engine management light on
I'm stumped at the moment it is and has been running fine it just dies for no apparent reason

That's why you really need it hooked up to some body with Diagbox if you don't have your own system. You will be able to get live data with the engine running and be able to see what is happening.
