Conked out, AA tow home.

Unread post by crowie100 »

Hi all,
Just joined today to try and solve a problem. My 2008 Peugeot Partner 1.4 petrol, just died on me today. No warning, no stutter, just stopped.
The AA man thought that it could be a fuel pump problem and found that there was only 9.5 volts at the pump. He thought that this could be a faulty relay/ECU problem. I was thinking of taking the pump out and testing it but that won't tell me if 9.5 volts is normal or not. The battery is putting out 12.8 volts so that's ok. We have a spark and the engine spins up like a good'un. Any thoughts??????

Did he check any fault codes with diagnostics?
Did he try giving the fuel pump 12v to see if it would fire?

Hi, and :welc: to the Forum.

One thing that could help with the diagnosis is the vehicle VIN. If you post it up here people with the tight access can find out what specific parts are fitted to YOUR vehicle. The VIN will, for security reasons, automatically be obscured so only Forum staff can read it.

No, for some reason no fault code showed. By the side of the road it wasn't possible to get 12v to it.
