number on bsi box is: 9653667380, which I do not think has changed

My first post - It's an intermittent problem that seems to be getting worse.
When working normally, it drives fine but sometimes a 'faulty gearbox' message flashes up..

Hi all, first post and the inevitable question. I have a 2001 2.0 hdi c5 and according to the internal display its 120 degrees c outside. I've done loads of searches on the subject and now I'm stuck. I've managed to successfully remove the mirror glass without breaking it but looking inside the mirror I can't see any way of getting to the sensor....

My Xantia, Fred, started making a funny noise when braking at 1 particular point on my journey. Not at any other time, oddly. Took the pads off to find this.

Have been a Citroen owner of cars and vans for the past 30 or so and never had any major problems with them, however at the moment I am having an intermittent problem when I try and select reverse gear. It sometimes will not go into reverse. If I try it might work after about 10 attempts. Sometines it works...

Everywhere I've found says 4.5litres.

Dropped the oil and changed the filter but it only took 4 litres to max it on the dipstick, never had this before on any other vehicle, it's usually the other way round and will take more than the recommended if anything.

Level ground all the old oil drained out. New oil is squeaky clean so it isn't like...

I went to halford the otherday to have a free air con check and they put abit of the aircon gas in as it was completly empty. They said there must be a leak as the gas went straight away. I have checked the pipes to any leaks but i cannot find any visable holes etc.

Cold engine starts instantly and runs smoothly for 5 minutes or so.
Then one cylinder goes missing.
I guess from that that it's a heat-related problem.
Above 3000 revs the engine seems smooth again. (But this might simply be because, at high revs, the missing cylinder is undetectable.)

Have got the Xantia started through an ECU swap. Will go into full details in another thread once I have had further time to play around with some more chip swaps, etceteras.
