Why can't they leave things alone? How are you supposed to change a bulb in the number plate lights? Cannot get new one to go in and stay in.
Does anyone have a tip, please?

Nothing has changed - same as for most PSA cars...
2 Choices:
1) These are simple 5w5 bulbs.
A small flat screwdriver to remove the clear lens as shown and replace bulb.
2) Using trim tool or flat head screwdriver angle out the complete bulb housing after depressing in the retaining clip and replace the whole unit:

Thanks, Marc, but mine isn't like that. 10 mins to pull out bulb, leaves behind 2 metal 'sockets' that should open to be able to push a new bulb in. But new bulb (identical to the blown one I took out) will not stay in.
In view of what you said I'll use a torch and mag glass to better see what is there. I'll photograph it if it is definitely not like your pics.
Thanks again.

There are 2 types, but as far as I can see the same bulbs Roger, depends on the build date.
That would require a parts lookup and your VIN though to check, so a membership upgrade

Perhaps a photo of your different lamp and bulb would shed some light (ho ho) on the problem?
