C4 Picasso handbrake
My sister's 2011 1.6HDi EGS.
Seems to come off when you set off, and reapply at key off, but button not working, and hill start assist disabled. Off to interrogate it later. Place your bets as to what's wrong with it

Despite the blizzard of lights and bongs and whistles, turns out to be no more than a good old fashioned mechanical failure - broken cable! At least these are replaceable, unlike the C5 X7. Somewhat surprised, as it passed MOT only a few weeks ago without even an advisory, but the cable is well crusty; MOT man must have missed it.

That's one saving grace in not having to replace the lot I suppose Richard.

New cable fitted, easy enough. Only difficult bit was getting enough free play to get it connected, ended up with a jack under the operating lever!
