Citroen C5 X7 general online update

Unread post by thundermaster »

Good morning,

Someone told me to do a general online update to my car. The car is a 2009 C5 2.0i petrol auto. Is this OK to do?

Thanks

Not sure what you mean, are you talking about software updates on the ECU’s?
If so you would need Diagbox + a dealer account to do this. Is there an actual problem with the car? I would not recommend doing software updates on the ECU’s unless there was an actual reason to do it. It does carry some risk & if it goes wrong can brick the ECU.

Problem with (new installed) handbrake, it works ok until engine stops. Then 'parking brake faulty' and 'anti rollback system faulty'. I wonder what checks does the car after switching off. I also wonder if there is an update to the ESP unit, so if this is going to solve the problem.

Do you have any error codes from a suitable code reader? This the first place to start.

I will note them.
Could it be a battery problem? Now I thought about it.
But the battery is from January, previous owner changed it.
