Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Dear collegaues,

when changing tyres on my C5 X7 one jacking point bent. I had to use a big plummers wrench to straighten it out. When I jacked the car, I found out the jacking point bent again.
I am afraid the trolley jack creates a sideway force that bents the point. After straightening it, I took the jack from my Xantia, but that did not help...

Just a quick question on the capacity of the entire system.
Yes i think i have a leak, not sure from where and aware the fluid is Total LDS and is orange in colour but just trying to work out what the capacity is for the system.
The vin is in my sig for admins reference.

I cannot see any obvious leak, it is losing a little bit so it will be going to my trusted garage to investigate the leak, gut and head both say steering rack as if pump or a hose it would be spraying it out at a rate of knots which it is not.

hi all thanks for reading, any advise would be greatfully recived, my 2014 C4GP developed a problem with ABS sensor on the rear left wheel, and a Parking brake fault, DIAGBOX reports RH parking brake incohearance the abs fault was caused by a corroded wire in the LH rear arch that has been fixed, but I can not find the fault with the parking brake...

Well now for an update, not been to the car since 7/4/21, went to move it today after a 2 week dry spell all systems functioning fine, no faults reporting, handbrake engaging and disengaging, thus I think water ingress in to the connector block of the ABS/BSI unit, has dried out removing the short

On my N/S rear wheel the outer tread is really worn quite badly over the last month or so.
Pressure is good so not under inflated, anyone have an idea where to start looking as I've never had anything to with C5 suspension before.

Seven months' ownership, only 2,500km in that time. First, the good point. 75mpg. And that is mostly short (<10miles) journies. But so many irritations. The central display is pretty basic and it's only possible to go through the menu with the engine running - if it isn't you only get 2 mins before display turns off. No adjustment on seatbelt...

My daughters 80k 308 with a DV6 has leaking injector seals and loose injector clamps. There is a receipt in the service book for all the seals being done already but I suspect because they are loose they just tightened down on the old studs again.

The good news is all 4 injectors came straight out. The bad news is 2 of the 8 studs are out but the...

Dear all,

I have to travel with a lot of materials in my car long distances and removed the pax seat thereof to make it much safer.
Does any one know which pins of the seat connector will correct the airbag error. I presume it's a resistance the car is looking for.
The issue is that I drive long distances and need cruise control which won't work...

Without wanting to sound negative, removing a seat is a safety issue / concern and the car isn’t designed to be driven with a seat missing, not least because of the safety system functionality.

If you were to have an impact with the curtain or passenger airbags going off whilst carrying objects, you might risk not only a serious personal injury...

What type of voltage signal does the electronic advance actuator use? CAN BUS, Straight 12v on/off or a PWM signal.

I now know that it is not CAN Bus. The 2006 1.9d Berlingo did not use CAN Bus.

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I took my C4 1.6 VTi 120 Exclusive for a major service and visual health check at the local Citroen dealership. During the visual health check they found that the rear exhaust hanger is broken and is no longer supporting the rear silencer. They have therefore quoted me for a new hanger and rear silencer - at a total cost...

I suspect it's just the band that goes around the silencer, fits into part 7, that has rusted through. They are notorious for it and, suprise suprise, are not available separately from Citroen. However they are available elsewhere, eg this one, search on ebay for 383498149601

I have a terrible creaking coming from these bushings at the front. I want to know if these rubbers are supposed to firmly grip the roll bar and the twisting is all done by the rubber (just like the lower arm bushings) or is the roll bar supposed to rotate and slip within the rubber.

I wonder because the creaking suggests they are slipping in...

I have just cured a serious creaking on the OSF of my XM. It felt like it was coming from the strut, but further examination revealed it was the droplink. The upper balljoint had become amazingly stiff. A new Lemforder droplink has cured the problem.

This probably is posted in the wrong section but I couldn't find an obvious place to put it.
A lot of bolts on my Dispatch are 'inverse torx' so you'd need a female torx socket.
What sizes should I be looking for in a set? The caliper bolts are a similar size to a 14mm hex and the subframe are larger. Looking online I have no idea what the sizes...

Hi, my saxo has 117k kms in it, at about 80k kms i changed out the rear trailing arm bearings and seals with genuine parts both sides.

Annoyingly i know the saxo rear axle is notorious for the rear axle pins to be fubard. The right pin was like brand new but unfortunately the left one had the bearing marks in it, i didnt catch it quickly enough,...

Hi all,
does anybody know if I can declare new values for battery with diagbox? I have only 3 values: 60,70 and 75Ah and I'm restricted to choose a new battery.
I know that I have to declare the Ah value accordingly to the value of the new battery but I didn't find where.

The car is c5 exclusive 2012 2.0hdi 163hp

Unfortunately now it seems that I lost the piloted charging; charging voltage is constantly 15V. Before changing from 75 --> 70Ah, charging voltage was alternating between 13,1 and 14,8. I tried to change back to 75Ah, but it didn´t help. Maybe this is better though, maybe fuel consumption rises a bit, but in the other hand battery should be full...

Hi everyone,

Just purchased a second-hand C4 GP 2014 plate 1.6 Exclusive+ model and I love it, however I've noticed a couple of minor niggles.

The following do not maky any noise:

Indicators
Seatbelt Warning
Open Door Warning

Is this likely a busted comms unit, or could it be as simple as a fuse?

Depending on the audio system that is fitted, the warning sounds may be configured to come through the radio speakers, so you can add that whole system (and BSI configuration) to your list.

Got the car started not from the key but from shorting and wire from positive on the battery to the starter. It was difficult to get it going from this but eventually fired into life.

Great the car was starting, and from then on it started from the key. I am not sure why it started from the key once i jumped in that time but at least that is one...

Hello all. Apologies that this is an incredibly vague request for help but bear with me!

As some of you know I look after my sister’s 2001 C5 2.2. She tells me that as she is pulling in to a parking space the engine sometimes slowly dies. I can’t get her to narrow it down more than that.

I think you should be able to get a live fuel rail pressure reading so you could get an idea of idle conditions from that and a screen grab of the other live fields wouldn't go amiss. as I said, there are likely to more than one niggle and they could have a cumulative effect. I had an issue with handbrake faulty with ESP/ASR codes and service lights, which after a couple days turned into all those codes with anti pollution error, turned out the EGR was playing up and was replaced.

I've just bought a C3 Picasso and would like a center arm rest. Looking online they range from £200 for a genuine part to £14.95 eBay special.

Normally if it's critical engine/suspension etc parts I tend go genuine but £200 is a little OTT and I don't do eBay specials.

I think I'm pretty good with soldering, but on the size of a key fob pcb... never again. The tip of my soldering iron just didnt get hot enough and I ended up almost ruining the board completely.. I managed to do one switch perfect, however the other, not so much. I managed to overheat the board and pulled up two of the switch copper...

Any ideas what causes this problem? When starting up the servo is hardly working at all at least turning right. Fluid level is ok. After short drive it improves successively but keeps being notchy turning right from center. If going slow and keep turning quickly between full left and right it disappears. Then back again next startup. Any ideas?...

Fluid level is good. But the fluid is black, so obviously needs to be renewed. But I suspect that's just a waste effort and cost to do now when something is wrong?
Or can the problem be a sticky valve due to bad fluid?

Afternoon all

I recently changed the rear pads and discs on my X7 C5 Exclusive Tourer due to the fact that they showed signs of dragging whilst the car was with the previous owner, i.e the pads were a lot more worn than the drivers side and the disc had signs of heat transfer.

Everything went ok, nothing seized and the pistons wound back fine,...

Worth checking your caliper sliding pins, associated rubber dust covers and piston all cause this type of problem.
Repair kits are available
Once the caliper starts sticking or piston starts sticking will only get worse until a total seizure occurs

Do you have an error code or is it just that the light is on?

The ECU does not have to be coded but the light might need to be reset (the error codes cleared).

IF you have fixed the problem AND it's just that the light needs to be reset, a scan tool should be able to clear the codes. Some auto stores can do this.

Hi, just thought I’d post an update on what this was, to help anyone else in the future.

It turned out to be a low voltage on a pedal sensor. Cleaned up and a relay replaced and it did the trick.

It seems the No FPS warning can cover lots of different problems so give it to a garage that specializes in fault finding. Worth the money.

Hi, I have a Nemo with an oil leak from what looks like the oil cooler or filter housing. I can’t find any step by step guide to removing and replacing the gaskets, so does anyone have any advice on where to start?

I have a mechanic friend who I can call on if I get stuck but I’d like to give it a go and learn.

I'm currently having a problem with my Citroën C2 1.4 VTR 2005 Mk1.
The problem that I'm facing is that the cooling fan is always on. As soon as I turn the ignition on the cooling fan starts blowing at max speed. Lexia shows me a P0485 cooling fan power/ground circuit malfunction code.

Could someone supply me the OEM numbers for the clutch kit for my Dispatch please along with driveshaft and gearbox oil seals?
Apparently there is also a sleeve that that release bearing slides on and this wears?

If anyone has a 'how to' that would be great also, the BOL's is awful on this.

Tip- leave the breaking of a car to the buyer.
Another tip- the scrap value of your car, even if it doesn't drive but ideally should be complete is around 300 gbp.
