Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Hi, i am once again having issues with the park brake wires seizing , preventing the park brake from fully releasing. i have ordered new cables for both sides.
i would also like to replace the return springs on the caliper lever for the park brake, but i am unable to find these anywherere.. i have found several for the C5 MK2 but sofar nothing...

You can free off the lever by working it back and forth and soaking it with WD40 until it falls back to the stop on it's own, if it doesn't return to the stop the self adjuster won't work.
This might be a temporary fix but with a bit of luck could last for a couple of years before it gets sticky again.

Hello or Bonjour to everyone! I’m creating a new post as I’ve searched my issue and can’t find anything specific. I have a 2007 C3 diesel that was kept garaged for years . It’s been running fine for two years. Had a recent full service, new battery etc. the other night I was on the way home and it died without any explanation. Dry conditions....

Hi!

I wanted to remove the accelerator pedal on my 2009 2.7 C5 X7 (LHD) to try to fix the kick down switch causing P2131 and P2133 codes.

I tried to remove the 3 bolds holding the pedal in place. Sounds simple. The top one went fine, but for the bottom two ones the bolts just started turning together with the nuts.

Any idea how to fix this?...

As I suspected, it took me several hours to screw the nuts back. I managed to renew the blood bond with my car in the process.

I did not attempt to remove the pedal further because I feared the bolts would drop out of the hole on the other side.

Hi lads
Planning to replace set of injector seals on only 1 of 4 injectors.
Eng 1.6 hdi 110BHP (160 000km)
Would appriciate advise.
It is RH injector that is leaking badly rest are bone dry. So will only remove 1 injector. However do you recomend removal and replacement of 2 studs also?

I have done a few of these and have got away with replacing just the washers and seals, I lack a torque wrench that goes low enough to tighten these and resort to using my tiny ratchet and being gentle, the worst part is getting the seat clean before fitting the new copper washer, a short piece of garden bamboo with a slot in the end to hold...

Hi,

I wonder if anyone else has encountered this before? The front discs and pads were new last year - both Apec brand. I've now put in new sliding pins and greased them with the grease supplied. But, still my brakes make a mooing noise from the front when slowing down. The pads are only 8 months old and have very little wear - the discs too....

I did say that the type of battery is registered in the BSI and that it should match what is actually fitted to the car. If you replace the battery like for like and it was already correctly matched then you don't need to tell the BSI that a new battery of the same type has been fitted.

Hello all,

I was wondering ... would it be possible to have a faulty high pressure pump without it shooting a fault code (not shown on OBD, no check engine light/message is on and basically no other fault is present as well) ?

The reading shows a petrol rail pressure failure (see the attachment) and car stutters a bit when REVS are in the lows...

Check you haven't got an object that has slid into the recess from the dash that is causing it to jam and the gears to grind. You may need an extendable mirror and look at it through the outside of the windscreen to see.

I have a very early Xantia 1.9 TD and I have never managed to get the diagnostic reader to work with it. I have a Lexia 3 running through a virtual PC on my old laptop. It works fully with my C5 X7.

The Service indicator will become illuminated and fixed, which is also accompanied by an audible signal and a message that the particle filter additive level is too low.

Hmmm, I got this type of information:

Lubrication system, pressure not consistent with atmospheric pressure.

Meaning what? Oil and filter has changed few thousand ago, Mobil 5w-30 ESP.

1,6 VTI 2011. Timingchaing, pistonrings aso. changed about 12000 km ago.

When I got my new trackrod boot for the nearside of my Xantia it came in a set with a pair of rack gaiters too.

As I will have it all apart I was thinking about replacing the N/S rack gaiter at the same time if the rack doesn't have to come off :)

Is it a difficult job that requires disassembly or can it be done in situe?

Well on the xantia you can get the full rack out one side without the front subframe lowered. You need to pop off one of the gear rods that takes a minute.

But not sure on the Picasso. Getting that boot over the spigot is difficult but surely not that hard? Lots of folk have done it with the cone thing but also improvised with old spoons etc....

Is there a way of turning the underfloor webasto off on my 2004 C8 or do I have to put up with it scaring the neighbours when I shunt the car around without going anywhere?

Hello all. Greetings.
A week ago I had this car running normal then suddenly lost power while on the way home. Lot's of white smoke come from the exhaust, and engine refuse to rev above 1000. Initially I thought turbo gone, just before I decided to pull the car over the engine started working again.

Hi All,

Citroen C5 x7 2010 rides every other journey like a bouncy castle.
I lowered and raised the car the much I blew the suspension fuse next to the battery. Replaced this and the car came up from the ground but still have the bouncy castle car ride, but not all the time.
I understand that it might be the rear height sensor, tried to google...

These are not available via aftermarket suppliers as they are pretty much bespoke to PSA. You can get them from the dealer. The front is a bot of a nightmare to get to, and be careful not to get underneath the car when touching these unless the car is fully supported as it can come crashing down without warning - even without the engine running....

FIXED!
I think the cv axles (driveshafts) were the main culprit. The rest of the problems were probably related to my winter wheels. I have now replaced the winter wheels with the summer ones and now it works properly... finally. They are the OEM alloys and new 2021 Dunlop tires.

It is clearly a victory but I don't feel like I've won anything....

I have a power steering fault with my Citroen Dispatch 2.0l hdi 120.
It is the Electro-hydraulic system.
It was working fine. no noise no problems. when i went back to it after starting it up it bleeped at me and on the screen said power steering fault. The STOP has lit up on the cluster.

I've given up and sold it now. The rack wasn't electric., just a standard rack which looked OK just had very slight play, no leaks. The pump itself was replaced. The same problem was still there. I was hoping to keep it but needed a vehicle for work and its been off the road for a couple of weeks already. Thanks for your help anyway 🙂

Thinking of giving the injectors a good clean. Seen different methods including removal, directly spraying in the fuel line, adding to the tank etc.
Adding to the fuel tank is probably ok for maintenance but not sure if it can declog. Any suggestions?

Car failed its MOT on a bit of welding both sides.
Didn't know they had that many skins :rofl2: hopefully fixed in a couple of days.

Hi,
Looking for the front lighter fuse on my 07 Picasso 1.6 HDI, I've checked the ones suggested after a Google search but no joy.
Also, if anyone can assist, I'm looking for the aluminium cover that attaches to the block just behind the turbo and goes down to near the bottom of the engine, no idea what it's called. It rattles despite tightening...

Oh, well spotted, I missed that!

From the photo, it looks like item (1) which I nearly put up, but you had already posted. I looked at the other part, but it seemed too big. If you look at the photo, it seems the smaller part (item1) screws into the larger part giving the illusion of it being one piece.

Hello. We have a Citroen Jumper, 1999, 2.5d

We are doing an engine swap and we want to check that the cooling fans get activated.

Does the blue sensor above the thermostat housing control the temp gauge and fire up the fans ?

Of course, silly us.

It's that great big sensor at the bottom of the rad, with the 3 wires to it.

As we have a spare rad and sensor, suppose we could remove the sensor from the spare rad, connect the wires to it and pop it into a mug of boiling water ---- that should fire the fans without risking cooking our engine ???

Thanks Marc for your info above, and we do drive RHS (not the wrong side). I took the covers off as shown and can see the side with the connectors, but there isn't access to the fan to give it a spin by hand to free it up.
Does this require the dash to come out or similar? Any thoughts on how to free it up?

Any ideas on this please, I will list what happened and hopefully it will make sense. 2008 stop startsensodrive model.

Car went in to citroen service dealer (local garage) for timing belt change, I am in france and 130k Km.
All ok and car returned and running fine, did 2 x 50km journeys during the day on open foads and no problem.

Problem solved, phew.... They checked and it was the wrong oil filter which restricted the flow, only steady long runs so no harm done I imagine. Garage changed it and renewed oil with an apology and no charge, as expected.

At least having changed the battery to see if it cured it the car drives much better. Being sensodrive the battery needs...

Has anyone got any experience on changing the fuel filter on the DW10C engine? This is on a 2011 C5 Tourer (2.0HDi 160). Manage to change everything else (including cabin filter - what a stupid design!) but the fuel filter.

I thought I'd just have to unscrew the 4 torx screws - but I can't shift a single one of them for love nor money. Can anyone...

Just changed mine on the same engine...

I had to specially order a Laser T35 3/8 Drive bit to get those Torx nuts off.

I couldn't get the right side filtered hose clip off but still could pull it up far enough and replace the filter and rubber O-ring.

Can anyone help please, C3 petrol 2006 stop start sensodrive.
I had previous problems, weak battery I think, which said stop start fault (in french) and after fitting a new battery it has done it again. Yuasa recommnded battery 65ah 640a

I replaced the battery doing the wait 10 mins door closed bit etc so hoped it was ok.
Seems not as the message...

So….before Xmas I ended up stranded with a dead battery. They thought the fan stuck was an issue. However after 2 garages it stopped but they didn’t know how. New battery and away I went.

Don't spray silicon spray or oil into the module - there are electronics in there. Use an electrical contact cleaner if you are going to disassemble the module.

Just for information, there were some issues related to the coolant outlet housing which affected this engine with Euro 5 standards (which yours is).

I can see quite a few topics on remapping other models but haven't found one on Citroen relay/jumper.

I have 2.0 bluehdi with DW10FU engine from 2016. I think it's 130bhp variant if to trust v5 document.

The problem may be one or more issues:

You may have an air distribution or air mixing flap problem where the gears on the spindles wear and no longer move. Or it may be the heater matrix is blocked.

You'll need to do some specific tests to try and work out what the issue is.
