Paint Codes....arrrrgg

Morning peeps.

My 1993 Xantia....its paint Code EKLCR

Just got some spray paint on the EKL code....WAY WAY to bright. Faulty codes used by the paint supply people ??.... or my fault ?? (not sure why).

Phoned them (Advanced Paint) and they responded very very positivity.....

New mix made and they sent me a "dip".....they agree that the first was way off.

Anyway, new paint arriving on Monday.

All in all when an error is made good companies FIX the error without question.

All PSA paint colours were "reformulated" in the early 1990s (1994?). The names were mostly changed, but they re-used the closest existing 3 letter code.

It is a nightmare for some Xantia colours, as even paint suppliers can't be sure which one you want.

Well maybe the company had two versions on their system ?......and if the first one supplied was a newer "reformulated" version I think that the French need to understand that "reformulated" does not equal "a whole new colour that bears no relation to the early one other than being RED" !!
