Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

I'm putting my mechanical Lucas injection pump back together but I have one piece left over. I'm certain it came from the top left distributor outlet (with the pump the right way up and ditributor head facing you) but it doesn't make sense as I would expect all the outlets to be identical.

Can anyone shed any light?

There is a hole in the bottom...

I have just fitted a new cambelt on my citroen c15d 2001 plate, now the thing won't start, but when it does start after I give it throttle it runs really lumpy and when I let of the throttle the thing dies, any ideas people? possible pump timing is out half a tooth or so?

you MUST install the belt from cam to pump to crank, and keeping it as taught as possible between these three sprockets,

all/any slack has got to be on the tenssioner side,

if the is a DW8 lump i find the belt almost needs shoe horning into place, they do seem to be very tight,

but the XUD is way easier/looser,

with the cam and pump locked off...

Can anyone please tell me the location of this on a series 1 LX model. I have searched the forums and some tell me passenger side and some drivers side. Benefits of going Diagbox over Lexia?
Can I screw more things up easier :shock:
Couldn't get Diagbox to work properly...operator install lack of intelligence....back to Lexia, eventually working again. How to check whether genuine diagbox or how good a copy is the Chinese one?

Diagbox is the more recent diagnostic software. If, when you select the vehicle, it is not one Diagbox directly knows about, it calls up the Lexia software.

Well it seems that the ZX must just about be at its lowest point in terms of interest and popularity. At the X Rally today there were lots of B s, several C s, quite a few M s and antia s, assorted eXtras and even an A but not one Z .

Hi. I have a 2.0 Grand Picasso diesel on 07 plate. I am in the process of changing the rear suspension airbags and have discovered that the little collar that you pull to release the pipe from the bag is broken on the passenger side. The upshot is that I cannot get the airbag off in the way it should be done and I suspect I will have to cut it off...

OK, its driving me bonkers !....a residue that I just cannot shift.

It looks like there is wax etc which just will not shift, new Bosch blades, Retardfords Glass polish, 100% screen-wash, Neat Meths, Panel Wipe....ect ect...still not shifting.

Any advice for a decent MAX Cleaner/Polish that does actually work ?

Hi, has anyone changed a cv gaitor boot, what tools do I need please and whats the process? I see different boot kits are available on ebay including stretchy ones? Will the tracking be affected. Thanks for any advice, jeff

Hi everyone,

I have a 2001 Diesel Citroen Xantia 2.0 HDI (110) and am having issues starting the thing. When working it would start first time, runs smoothly with no problems and is great. But a few times now it has struggled to start. The engine tries to start but is getting no fuel to it.

When I turn the ignition I do not hear the in-tank low...

The in-tank pump has been quite. No strange noises out of it at all. It would whirr for about 3 seconds and then I could start the car no problem. So it's gone from working to nothing :-(

Owned my latest Xantia for about 6 months, and was aware that when I bought it the dials had been replaced with one from a petrol car???

Well finally for got around to changing them with the set off my diesel breaker, and had some silver plasti-coat paint so did the following.

Very rough attempt, but now have the set that I removed so...

Just finished removing as a complete 'kit' (sold) from the VSX. This is the factory-fitted Phillips Blaupunkt 4030 radio/cassette unit with 10CD autochanger under the front passenger seat. There's nothing complicated about fitting/removing the radio and autochanger units, but the cable that connects them starts from the CD unit with a round plug...

Hi

The suspension pump has failed on my '02 2.0 HDI C5, it's stuck on the lowest setting. Have checked the electrics and power is getting to the pump unit so guess new pump required. Cannot afford to go to main dealer (quoted over £1000 for pump only). Does anyone know of a good citroen mechanic in the Hillingdon/West London area?

If you say power to the pump but not working then get another pump plenty on ebay or try local breakers.

Should be plenty of information on here on how to change.

I changed my power steering pump the other month and lost a lot of fluid. I did not have to pressure up the system just added fluid.

Hope you get if sorted and do have have to scrap...

First time on this forum and first time owning a french car! I bought an 02 C5 1.8 petrol with 50Kmiles and one owner. Car is like new inside and out and has a full Citroen SH. I seem to be having trouble locating a top engine mount for my Synergie. There are lots of the rear, underneath mounts that go on around the driveshaft but none for the top one. They look very similar so one of my questions is, are they the same part?

Been thinking for a while that the Xantia steering was slightly heavy - especially when driven back to back with the C4 GP! However earlier this week it was dire after you had driven a few miles, presumably because it was hot, and the heat soak from the exhahust wasn't helping - there was about 10 deg in the centre that was OK then it would go...

Thanks for this information, I though I had all sort of expensive kit to have changed on my Vreg Xantia Estate, but it's like a miracle, couldn't believe spraying some high temp grease onto the UJ would work but it did! Easily reached through the wheel arch on high suspension, whilst looking up from underneath. Took two minutes!!! Thank you again....

I replaced the nearside rear trailing arm bearings. After comparing parts n prices from main stealers I ordered some from fleabay and some from the Stealer. Total cost less than £50

recently had my cambelt idle and tensioner +water pump replaced.
only to find the bottom cambelt cover has been ripped off.

My C2 is still not behaving itself. A new battery seemed at first to cure it, but it is now needing jump started when cold, it drives perfectly and starts itself when warmed up. The old battery out of it is working properly in the Landie. I then thought the alternator might be goosed, so I have had a bit of checking as far as my limited knowledge...

I saw that James, I also need a cat, the hangers of it are falling off and as soon as the bolts were touched I think it would disintegrate. There is a bean can and gungum round the worst bit for an emergency hold it together. I have just had to pay £523 for the c2, and Insurance paying £500!!!!! That has left me skint, totally. Hi, my fathers series 1 Xantia. He is currently sat in a car park unable to start. He says, that the red light on the key code is flashing. the engine turns over but wont start. has he put the wrong number in? would that be the reason why the light is flashing and it wont start. thanks in advance Terry :oops:

Another option I found out tonight it to pull the keypad out, unplug it, plug it back in and hey presto, back to normal.

I'm looking for better MPG currently getting 33-35mpg town driving a doing just under 15 miles a day.

Have not used any fuel additive since buying car back in Sep 2013 only using Forte Cleaner. Used Shell fuelsave diesel up until Jan 2014 when it changed to Texaco have used Standard diesel up to March then changed to their supreme diesel can't...

Hello all

Just bought a lovely 2009 C5 but noticed that the front end is quite floaty. I know these are soft cars but... I drive lots of different cars and this one is super super floaty!

Then I noticed that selecting max height the car does not appear to reach maximum height. The rear does reach the height okay, but the front does not move at...

Whatever you get make sure that it has either the PDA or the Iveco (Fiat) engine. Either option is better in every respect than the 2.2 lump from the T. Citronut describes a common problem. I was on the way home tonight with my Mrs in the car when it developed and awful rubbing or grinding noise from the rear end when going around a roundabout .... So Peugeot is going upmarket to compete, I guess, against VW or Audi or BMW? Citroen will be the value brand so will this mean an end to the German C5?

Hi I know this is an ongoing much posted on fault,but this fault message seems to cover a legion of possible faults,

Just ordered a new unit as getting lights coming on in day light randomly.

Is there anything I need to do specially to make the new one work or is it plug and play? I have read the Haynes manual and seems easy enough to change.

The serpentine/alternator belt stripped. I've replaced it with a new one, but there's a problem.

I've checked the alignment of the belt around each pulley. When I start it up the belt around the hydraulic pulley is derailed by a couple of teeth. No mater what I've tried it still skips out of the pulley groove.

Could the tensioner immediately...

evening all

new to the site
im replacing the injector pump shaft seal and thought someone must know were i can pick one up.
the pump number is nr 0460 484 055 ver425-2 xud201
also any body got a how to get a duff glow plug out that's been chewed up.
ive look through the stickys but couldn't find anything.
im in doncaster.

As per the title....tailgate won't open, and the rear-wiper stopped working at the same time.

Fuse for the wiper is fine.

That could also be knackered rear arm bearings, causing one side to 'stick' until it gets enough load to overcome it.

With the suspension inflated, try bounce testing each rear corner in turn to see if there's any difference in how easily/smoothly you can push it down/get it to bounce back up?

I finished the job of putting the front lower subframe back on, replaced the pinion with one from the breakers, bled the brakes etc. Strangely enough, seems to have done the trick in terms steering.

But 2 other problems have arisen:

I parked my 2.0 8v Xantia Automatic one day, and the next day the thing just would'nt start. Starter runs, cam belt is intact, but no spark at all.

I've replaced the brown fuel pump/ecu relay but it didn't help, so now i've ordered a camshaft sensor off ebay. But i can't see where it goes as the cable dissappears behind the...

I'm looking at buying a 52 plate C5 2.0HDI SX, it's done according to the advert 72,000 miles with a full Citroen service history but speaking to the chap selling it on the phone it doesn't show any history of a timing belt change.

Hi ive a few bits to sort out on my new acquirey!
one is the spring on clutch pedal as mech told my friend it needed doing as sticks.
other i think is front anti roll bar area as clattery! are they same as zanty?.
Fuel filter housing how do you open to change filter.
Need to find fuse diagram/layout as blew one trying to get bulb out in boot...

Hi,

I filled my C5 up the other day and once the pump clicked off i noticed my feet were swimming in diesel and a big puddle around the pump (i didn't force any more in so i know its not being over filled unless the pump didn't click off), upon investigation i noticed that when i pulled the cover off under the seat it was all swimming in there,...
