I bought our 2002 C5 2.0HDi 110 SX hatchback (simple H3) from Bencowel, who had fitted it with comfort spheres. I really didn't like the uncontrolled ride quality so swapped it back to normal spheres. However, with the H3+ it might well be different as the hydractive should be able to maintain the control.

The XM taper presents exactly the same problem but by keeping matched struts and strut heads either type may be fitted.
Because the pistons are the same diameter Citroen permit mixing of strut sizes on a car.

hi guys just a quick update on my elec problems. i was going to replace ignition barrel but a friend suggeseted spraying wd40 on my key and directly into barrel.i did this and it seems to have cured my electrical gremlins?? hope this can help someone in the future. many thanks keithn410.

I have to disagree and say I much prefer that shape C5 in both its versions than the current German Mondeo with a Citroen badge on the front!!! :x

i presume its the whole abs block he's replacing.have check several second

looking at service citroen yes it seems there is a collar behind the sphere and around the neck of the strut/cylinder,
the cylinder will come out forward so yes the sphere will need removing,

although it is usually possible to replace the boot without removing the cylinder,

Almost certainly, if the alarm doesn't 'set' with a bleep, your ultrasonic sensors are kippered. Very common. If the alarm 'sets' with a bleep then this means at least one mechanical sensor is saying it's not happy and often it's the boot or bonnet switch. Lexia will spill the beans...

To discount the ultrasonics, set the alarm with them...

i would just get an manifold to down pipe fitting kit as it will require new springs and sealing ring,
but mind you dont buy a cheap kit as they realy need the better woven wire sealing ring/gasket,

Never heard of that one... What diagnostic machine did the garage use? It does not sound like a Lexia message and I'd not trust anything other than a Lexia or ELIT to tell the truth...

Quite often the problem is with the seatbelt pre-tensioner wiring plugs/sockets under the seats becoming loose/disconnected. Checks those first before suspecting...

I found a sneaky leak on one of the vacuum lines which was stopping the wastegate opening.

I had a similar problem on my first Berlingo Multispace which I'd bought new, at random intervals when unlocking the rear wiper would do a complete wipe stroke. A couple of dealers looked at it but gave up with a French shrug, it was put down to the joys of French Multiplex wiring :lol:

maybe your AC pump pulley bearing are failing,
if this is the case mind the pulley does not cause the aux drive belt to drop off and end up behind the cam belt cover, which in turn can cause the cam belt to fail,

If you have the output going to your feet, face and windscreen at the same time it is quite rubbish compared to just blowing on your face :-P

Check the rubber seals on the tailgate and also the fitment of the rear light units, they can allow water to seep in in wet conditions.

Yaw sensors seem to often be low down, mid-wheelbase. I'd look on the floorpan under front seats or beneath the rear seat cushion.

Citroën changed the sensor type around RPO 10100 to an inertia device - think iPhone etc. This makes me presume its pedecessor worked on a gyroscopic mass arrangement.

Software designers do not waste time testing a programme beyond its actual needs.
They have enough trouble getting it to work correctly after a fashion within the required limits.

i belive you should not wind the pistons backwards in calipers with the hand brake mechanism built in,

i use duck oil to lub caliper pistons inside the dust covers,

and the mounting bolt's.pin's are usually caliper slides these must move in and out freely otherwise the caliper will bind/drag,

I will try the Eco switch to see if it does it then, when we get the car that is, should be just a few days more.
Usually Eco disengages (or reduces power to) automatic air con, basically to switch it off so saving energy as not doing much in mid winter :)
