I have a xsara picasso 1.6hdi that developed a horrible rattle which I traced to the gear linkage lever (on the gearbox) vibrating on the bellhousing. The lever it riveted on so when it is worn the part has to be replaced. I have replaced this part twice now, each time it silenced the rattling for 3 weeks or so but it starts up again. Has anyone else had this problem with their gearbox? It seems such a flimsy design and highly annoying when the rattling starts.
