Hi All,
Been a while since I last posted, all good with my Xantia, 7yrs with it and all still good.
Mine is a 'S' reg 2.0L SX H.D.I (110 bhp) Xantia.
Is M.O.T. time again and have been researching doing a full oil change before I put it in for M.O.T.
Have been reading about 10W40 fully synthetic oil being best, any opinions about this?
Has anyone got the process for me? What other parts would/should I get? Which oil filters are best?
Is 5 litres enough to do full change?
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Xantia 2.0L SX HDI Oil change
I have used Asdas' own brand fully synthetic (in a goldish coloured can) at around £20 for 5 litres in my previous Xantias and my current C5 with no problems. That should easily be enough. For the rest (oil, air, fuel and pollen filters) I have used GSF in the past and they have always been good with their prices and service.

Re: Xantia 2.0L SX HDI Oil change
Hi All,
Have found this service filter kit on ebay at £18.98, see link.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SERVICE-KIT-f ... 0005.m1851
It says "THERE IS A CHOICE OF FUEL FILTER ON THIS MODEL OF XANTIA DEPENDING ON WHICH FUEL FILTER ASSEMBLY IS FITTED AT THE FACTORY - EITHER BOSCH OR TECAFILTRES/SIEMENS."
Does anyone know what filter assembly is fitted to the "S" reg 1999 mk 2 model, as standard? Want to make sure I order the right parts. Also does anyone know the correct process (or prep) I should do with the oil / filter change?
Thanks,

Re: Xantia 2.0L SX HDI Oil change
Hi Again,
Have had confirmation from the seller that the filter kit fits my reg car and so have ordered.
Have also found and ordered this deal for Shell Helix 10W40 synthetic car oil (5L) for £16.50 (free p&p) reduced from £31.14.
http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/p/a ... 1UEALw_wcB
Should have everything I need in the next few days.
Cheers,
Steve
