Night time display brightness.

Unread post by demag »

Is there a way to dim the centre info display at night? It is excessively bright to the point of dazzling me. The daytime brightness is fine.

Do you have a DARK button on the radio like mine? It works on a cycle, so first push dims centre panel, second turns it off, third push turns off all but speedo dials IIRC, and fourth push brings it back to normal. Otherwise, in the radio menu system, you can alter the brightness and even reverse mono.

On mine the Dark button turns the display on/off and the right hand button in the instrument binnacle alters the brightness.
Sometimes a bit random which bits the dark button affects.

Oh I'll have a look in the morning. To set the daytime brightness I've gone into the menu settings and done it from there.

Found it. The reason I couldn't see it before it was too dark.
The dark button turns the centre display off but haven't checked further.

yes a nice feature !

I used mine on the X7 this morning driving to work at 4am !! mine just turns everything off except the outer speedo markings and the virtual needle.. just all the orange from the buttons..makes for a very nice night time experience, and what I cant see doesn't worry me ;)

my older c5 was similar I think in that the heating and info displays went dark, and all I had left was a speedo.

On the mk2 you can invert the display so the background goes dark and the words show up in orange instead of black.
