Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Ok, so I've got a weeping pipe under the lds reservoir, bought the new pipe with a view to just swapping it over but I'm buggered if I can see what's holding the reservoir to the pump area. I've taken the 10mm nuts off that hold it to the wing and I can jiggle the reservoir in all directions but can't get it up far enough to get to the jubilee...

Hi all,

I'm just toying with the idea of a remap, probably won't do it as there's still a few issues I want to sort out first.
I've had a look at a remap site and it seems one can squeeze ~160BHP out of the Hdi 110 unit (really?). So my concern is the auto box, as I understand it's limited to 210Nm? It's not much is it. What is the limiting...

Hello.

Doing the clutch and duel mass flywheel on my C5 2008 X7 2.0HDI. We have found that the crankshaft seal is weeping and has been spitting oil on to the flywheel so I want to replace it. The only problem is finding the seal. Will it be a main dealer only part or does anyone know a place that sells them?

Simple question of the day...

I seem to be in coolant change mode at the moment, given that the 107 had its done at the weekend and I did the Saab's today (and made a horrible mess while doing so!), figure the Xantia should be up next, especially given what it looks like.

I just realised though that given the age of the Xantia it could well use...

Yep, distilled water down here!

Used to be fine using tap water when I was up in Aberdeenshire, but not down here...especially given that MK water is rather on the hard side! Not as bad as it was when we were in Oxford mind you! Descaling the kettle literally every week anyone?

Hi I was looking for some advice on resetting the bsi unit on a citroën picasso 02. I have found how to do it but all the information says you have 2 hold the power button on the key for a certain amount of time. My car key isn't remote so how do I get round this?

Hi all,
Next problem is the air conditioning. So I don't have it working. The initial question is what does a knackered compressor sound like. I ask because when I start her up in the morning there's this massive scratchy rattle that disappears when the car warms up. So could this be the problem? Never worked on a compressor before. The stuff has some anti leak stuff in side it so it may do the trick for the summer days if it's a slow leak. Just been informed by Chris Salter that my good friend Malcolm has been admitted to hospital with acute leukemia. He went to his doctor earlier in the week with some bad bruising and was immediately refered to hospital where he was put straight into intensive care where they nearly lost him. So looking at a c5 diesel estate that has done 220,000 miles

What would you being looking at, apart from the service items?

I suspect the interior is going to worn so a drivers seat shouldn't be too expensive from France so get a passengers seat.

If its got the 8 valve 2.0. engine they are pretty well bomb proof. I would concur with trailing arm bearings although they may have been changed by that mileage. The interiors wear pretty well so it won't necessarily need replacing. I got a complete black leather one for £100. If it drives OK it probably is.

Recently the old girl has been feeling a little bit irregular, Still smooth but nowhere near the softness levels I have had previously. all clamps on the octopus are nice and tight, and I've done the 10 minute mod which seemed to help previously.

Well, Citroen recommend the LHM is changed every 36,000 miles, and that the system is flushed on the third change (so around the 110,000 mile mark). I have done this on both of the Xantias I had (as well as the BX), and although I cannot categorically say it helped things, there was a distinct change in colour of the Hydraflush from when it went...

I would like to ask help in case of installing a new keyless remote entry into a 1999 Xsara I but I am faceing with a problem of wiring.

According to the guide information there are 5 diff. kind of wires what should be connected to the original built-in central lock. ( I did not buy the motors)

Somebody told me that I don not have to connect any wires to the motors because its controlled by the central protection unit if the switch is open or close in the driver side lock assembly.
Also mentioned that the 3 pinout of lock close. (wire 6291)

Since owning the Xantia hdi 110 i've serviced it twice with total quartz 9000 5/40, 3rd service is 2 months away and I've been looking at the 9000 5/30 fuel economy, will there be any gains in fuel economy shifting over to 5/30 or very minimal (even if I get an extra 3-4 miles a gallon I'm :-D ), will I need to flush the engine and use the 5/30 or...

Hi I'm a newbie here..great forum.
I have a 2004 Citroen xsara picasso 2hdi. Had really poor pulling power ie general acceleration on hills etc. had read that could be MAF - so replaced..now replaced one problem with another. While pulling power has improved I am now getting awful puffs of black smoke (esp in 2nd and 3rd gear) and delayed...

Was having paranoia at the weekend that my HG was going as I had noticed that the temp has been running hotter. My Xantia on open road sits around 75 on my guage but under load, pulling trailers etc - creeps up to 90. The fans kicked in at 90.

I posted back in November about my Rad fans coming on when the car was cold, and got great advice that the wiring connector on the brown sensor on the thermostat housing was the likely culprit, as the bad contact there raises the resistance which then sends a signal to the bitron that the engine is hot & runs the fan. Wonder if anyone can shed any light on this. At last some resolution to the rattle - decided on a full rebuild of the N/S suspension so replaced the arm with a new arm with new bushes, new ball joint and new droplink and it feels much more solid and sorted. Interestingly the new balljoint that I had fitted earlier this year was completely knackered - really bad play, so much than when off...

Hi folks, had a bit of a disaster, wonder if someone has come across this before.
fitted a cambelt to a 1.6 HDI in a C4 yesterday, anyway, very simple job really, but the car made a strange clicking noise as I manually turned the engine, but thought it must be normal, all marks realigned.
On cranking to start, the engine made an odd legging type...

Think of the environment and do not risk getting nabbed by the waterboard by letting the waste run down the drains .

In the early days of Citroen, there actually was an approved method of cleaning DPF, that was by pressure washing them, but due to hazardous waste it was stopped very soon afterwards. My 2.2 mk1 C5 covered just under 150,000...

Hi, just wondered if there's a common place to search for air leaks on these cars?

Normally fires first time.

She now if left over night or the 8 hours at work, she now unusually needs to be turned over many times 15-30 seconds before she eventually fires up.
Once running everything is fine.

Hi All
need some advice I have a blown front fog lamp bulb on my 2010 C3 Picasso and need to get at it. The owner manual says to remove the grill below the fog lamp in order to get at the back of the lamp, but doesn't say how it is attached, is it clipped in place or what? I have tried levering it off but without success I can get one end moving...

Evening Guys.

Electrics to windows failed on the S2 a while ago.

I have removed and repaired the loom in the door jamb.

However, I am left with one wire and cannot feel where it connects to.

The door buzzer in in the dash, set off with the door switch in the pillar. That speaker plug is used for speakers from about 1999 onwards, before that they were a chunky yellow style

Ay up!

Just discovered that I have zero effort on the RHS handbrake. LHS works well. The lever on the caliper feels free and there is even wear across the 4 pads.

Hi All,
After fusebox issue which seems to have sorted(so far) the random error messages, this time its the suspension faulty issue, car not going up or down. I had this a year and half ago and it was a leaking power steering pipe which was replaced. But the fault has come up again, although this time i'm seeing no visible leaks under the drivers...

One slight correction to Richard's description: the centre sphere is not undamped , the damper elements are mounted in the valve block (one per side) not on the sphere.

Don't fit normal comfort spheres, as the pressure and damping are wrong when the hydractive spheres get switched in, and the car wallows too much.

Hi all new to the forum, I have a question about my injectors and coding on the car, I recently bought the mises a 1.4 hdi as a spares repair cheap problem been hard to start when cold so I replaced the hand primer set up and had injectors tested etc and ended up replacing 1 faulty injector anyway the car still had problems starting from cold so...

As the owner of a 2.2 i agree with all the above comments. Fantastic car with more features and gadgets than you can throw a stick at but a little quirky compared to my previous mondeos. I only get about 40mpg (mondeo was 30 at best :lol: ). It appears common to replace the water pump at same time as cam belt on a 2.2. A lexia is sound investment....

I used 3 bits of scrap alloy plate. I had 2 stacked just on the lip of the wishbone right by the bush. The other one was slid along the arm until it sat flat.
To put the new one in I couldn't get it into the press so I used a large vice to squeeze it in.
