I'm steadily rectifying all the teething problems after fitting a low mileage 1.9td into my van. No more black smoke and sounding bang on!
The problem i have now is that the cooling fans mounted on the radiator are not kicking in when the engine creeps above 90 centigrade...

I fitted new head gasket fitted and had the head skimmed

A couple of weeks after I done it

Soot started appearing in the expansion tank

It's not oil is Diesel soot..

So I changed egr and egr cooler

Parts! Are you sure you have the correct part. These vehicles have different fan units / speeds depending on engine and options. If you have an incompatible fan unit with the vehicles systems then it won't work.

The fan should kick in on Low speed when the A/C is switched on. High speed is dependent upon the engine temperature, but usually does...

My WipNav RNEG satnav screen has been hit with some force and it has broken part of the display.

I have found a replacement screen forsale that goes with a RT3 head unit, will this screen work with my head unit?

Second question, I cant find any videos online, are they easy to swap out for a DIYer like myself to do?

Is the headlight assembly on a 1.6 hdi 407 the same as the 2.0 hdi 407?

My 2.0 has a bad looking passenger side unit, the right side looks much newer and I can get my hands on a 1.6 hdi passenger unit.

Also does bumper need removed?

My car will start fine and run for a while but then might buck /jerk, keep on driving, then might do it a while later, then on occasion after doing it

My 205 lucas diesel pump developed a leak around winter 2020, a small drip from the rear . When the engine ran and warmed up it ceased dripping !

Sounds like the brake switch may have either come out of its holder or failing that it may just need re adjusted. sometimes if your foot accidently lifts up the pedal when exiting the vehicle for example, it can knock the plunger out of adjustment. That would be where i would start looking.

Recently bought a 807 with front and rear parking sensors.

I have worked out that the front ones don't appear to work as I accidentally kissed the wheelie bin with the car yesterday ](*,) .

Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any ideas as to how I could fix it.

The car hasn't been anywhere since March last year, except moved from drive to garden a few times to make room for building works. I checked it over in the summer thinking it was MOT time but decided that the brake pedal really did go a bit too far down...

I don't really understand your question, but the fact that you have 2 injectors stuck seems to indicate it might be advisable to have a look at the injector seals and seats. After all you are very near and to lift the head is just a small step. This way you can be 100% of where everything is.

Am I correct in thinking that there are two lengths of Dipstick for the XUD?

One for the alloy AC Sump, t'other for the steel Sump....

I have the AC Sump fitted, but I want to swap it for a steel one in the course of a number of upcoming works. Do I need a new Dipstick to get a true 'level'?

I can only think that the part that has broken off may be lodged in the bottom of the dipstick tube. It may also be a possibility that somebody has had this issue previous to your ownership and may have had the same problem - so any broken parts may be stuck?

Good afternoon, yesterday when checking my oil I noticed that my coolant was slightly low so I toped it up to just below the full line,I drove to work this morning and checked it again but this time I noticed it was rather high nearly to the top, is this normal or do I have an air leak or worse a head gasket issue? Something I found on the 308 is that the radiator hoses have external mesh webbing around fairly soft hose, and if the external webbing splits, the hose bulges when the engine is hot, causing the apparent coolant level to drop significantly, but recover when the engine cools.

Hi,

I have a spare key for my 407 SW which does not seem to have any electronic internals. I tried it in the ignition today and the engine turned over but refused to fire, displaying a key icon on the dash. I'm guessing this means it doesn't have the immobiliser transponder either.

What is my cheapest option to turning this into a fully...

With the rectangular type PSA keys from China so far i have not had one that the blade hasn't been interchangeable with the originals.
Yes there are different types of internals but this would only be an issue if just swapping the casing over. I would say the intention here would be just to replace the whole remote but just swap the blade over....

Hi I am trying to order a recon turbo for my car that it is getting fitted by my local garage.
I know nothing about turbos and do not currently have access to my car.

Need to know if it’s water or oil cooled. Can anyone tell me what I’m looking for ?
Or is there a database that can be searched to show...

I have to say that I didn't even know that water cooling of turbos was a thing. Perhaps for high performance exotica? Cooling of intake air using a water spray (charge cooling) was certainly used on competition engines some 20 years ago when I was interested in such things.

Update, I was certain that the solenoid was to blame so started a hunt, found some but not for my starter on Autodoc, did a image search using the various part numbers that Marc supplied and eventually came up with this

Dimensions given were too limited to take a punt on it. Went into a local motor factors that supply the trade.
He had one in...

I've been cleaning the plastic trim in the 807 as the previous owner left it in a grim state..

When Poppin off the rear right trim (where the rear right seatbelt retracts) I came across this clipped wiring ... Is it something I need to be concerned about? And secondly any one have any idea what was part of this wiring loom?...

Hey I’m in serious need of a hub due to the wheel bearing circlip being seized in place and I was just wondering if I got a berlingo hub would the rest be the same,or would I have to change trackrods etc,many thanks

Hey many thanks for the quick response I’ve got the hub on and the ball joint was luckily the same but I changed the two outer track rod ends and they don’t seem to let me screw them in enough the trackrod ends are sperious parts,do you know if that would be the reason?

Hi all. I'm trying to access the high pressure fuel pump on a DV6 engine in a Peugeot 5008 (1.6 Hdi). This appears to be right at the back of the engine below the fuel filter housing and is impossible to get at. Surely access isn't by engine removal? Any advice from the learned members appreciated.

I keep getting traffic announcements via the radio, is there a way to turn it off? It appears to be greyed in the menu option.

407 non start

Just because I can't use the van due to the clutch my 407 has just broken down.
Stopped at the side of the road to answer the phone, turned the engine off. Finished the call, turned the key and I could hear a click from the glove box area but no turning over. Now I can't hear that. Plugged the 'puter in, 2 codes that I've never seen before

Bol's is a lie, no change there then....... It is a 20A F8 under bonnet fusebox. It's done it 3 times this week then today the solenoid was just clicking, took my mate tapping the starter whilst I hit the key. Just did a google and it's a known fault to the point that the known fix (from Peugeot) is to chuck a 25A fuse in.

Looking for someone to point me in the right direction, I can’t help but think I am missing something simple.

I have a mate with a Peugeot 5008 1.6 HDI
He came to use my workshop over the weekend to change cam cover gasket to cure an oil leak, He drove the car in and started to strip of the stuff to get to the cover.
He managed to get enough...

Starts and runs fine about 1 turn of the key in 20 turns, The rest of the time I get about 1 revolution and then it stops cranking. and now no fault codes on Diagbox, I still think it is a fuel problem but last time it started I drove it out of my workshop and parked it on the garden while I wait for some...

Hi All,

New to the forum and to the Peugeot car worlds :)

Just bought a project car for my daughter as first car (once it is working and safe) - it is a Peugeot 206 CC 1.6 litre engine.

Issue - car wont start, but turns over.

I have done the beep test and all good.

After reading forums l started following the breadcrumbs towards the crank...

Beep test is where you test does the car recognise the key i.e. is there a BSI issue.

I have checked fuel and there is pressure. This weekend l was going to do injectors, coil etc...

I have put a reader on ecu and it connects, but no codes are shown. Note sure it it detects crank sensor failure unless engine is running.

So the wifes little 59 plate 207 decided to break a front spring (OS), like the dutiful hubby, I get a pair ordered, they arrive and in no time at all I've nearly torn a finger off and put a nice dent in the wing .. Not bad going to 20 mins work eh :D

I have a cranking but non starting '03 206 s with the 1,4 8v engine. Battery went flat during lockdown, charged it, car didn't start immediately which was odd but after a few tries it fired up fine. Couple of weeks later same story only this time it won't start and I'm sure it used to buzz and click when I connected the battery before. Check...

I believe it has although it was so long ago I don't remember the actual occasion. I have tested it on a polo and micra so it's functional. Auto electrician said it should be 5v and yes I did disconnect it to test. Are the pins mentioned on the BSM dependent on a signal from the BSI or ECU or should they be at 12v just from having the ignition...
