New to the forum and to the Peugeot car worlds
Just bought a project car for my daughter as first car (once it is working and safe) - it is a Peugeot 206 CC 1.6 litre engine.
Issue - car wont start, but turns over.
I have done the beep test and all good.
After reading forums l started following the breadcrumbs towards the crank engine sensor.
Sensor was taken out and isn't producing any voltage. It is also showing as .550 ohms and waving steel across produces no voltage. So that looks like the sensor needs replacing.
Now the reason for this post. The sensor plug doesn't have any continuity to ground - either to battery or engine block. When l turn key to on and test for voltage it shows as 2.5v on both wires, which suggests a short somewhere.
I'm assuming one wire should go to ground and the other wire feed the sensor voltage to ECU. Is that correct?
Any suggestions to what l need to do?
