Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Took our new style 2017 C3 to the dealership a while back because the main digital speedo display kept reverting to kph (see earlier post) and they said yes, it is a known fault, fixed under warranty .

Replaced one of the low beam H7 bulbs today (a Nightbreaker having lasted all of four months) and in the process managed to bend the cylindrical metal thing in front of the bulb so that it's no longer pointing in the same direction as the bulb and is actually touching it. Hi have a 2008 c4gp 1.6hdi
The car won't turn over it was running fine I stopped to go in a shop come out and nothing
Battery fine only 6mth old
Fuse fine
Engine earth fine
Ran diagnostic which came up with
Absence of start signal to starter
Car will push start and run fine
Question is
Where else to check am going to direct feed starter...

I don't think this is possible - actuator tests for things like the door locks / windows and audio control buttons can all be done as examples, but as for physically starting the car, I suspect that this operation will still require the key to be turned and any immobiliser functions to be carried out as normal. But I would be happy to be proved...

Please tell me why do the glow plugs appear to be at the back of the engine and not the front like normal vans?

How are you supposed to change them?

I do have a defective one and want to change them. please help.

Ok so I've got a slow leak from steering rack one of the two small pipes that go to the column believe the lower of the two due to 0 ring im told can I use Lucas stop leak with LDS fluid or has anyone used an 0 ring expansion fluid/conditioner to such effect

Yes the chap has the Dual Zone climate system that has additional controls for air mix and direction and will have the additional component I mentioned in my post on this system. My previous couple of cars have had side lights come on/off when you turn the ignition on/off,so you don't have to remember to turn them on/off each time,which i'm finding a real pain when i'm doing a number of short drive/stops.
Is there anything i can do about it ? other than fitting some Daylight LED strips.

Got myself a problem on our '07 Xpic 2.0 16v Exclusive with auto climate control.
Whatever controls the outlet distribution, it is stuck blowing air from the high level vents only. I cannot get air to the screen.

I've got the lower facia off, and have located the stepper motor that varies the air temperature. That side of things are working...

As I see it, one motor would be for the external or recycled air option, one would be for the distribution of the air (which vents to use), while the last one would be for the management of the hot or cold levels. That doesn't mean I am right though!

Morning, I have a C5 2.0 hdi VTR estate auto on a 06 plate, I have been looking at max tow weights, the same car on a 05 plate, and the same car on a 07 plate both have higher max towing weights with the 06 with a max of 1300kg as far as I can figure out, can anyone shed any light on this please,

Also the auto seems to have lower weights ?

They are the lift-me-one-side type, but they need quite a brave amount of lift. They pull out quite nicely when you've lifted the tab enuff.
(I got a better look by rigging a platform next to the driver's door - a couple of spare wheels with a board and a sunbed mattress. Quite comfy in the end and an excellent observation...

2008 C3 diesel 1.4 when I go to start the car if I don’t get a beep and auto pollution warning the car starts and drives no problem if the warning is on the engine does not turn over I have to switch ignition off and on maybe only once or up to 10 12 times the next sometimes there is no problem very intermittent i have no codes present reading...

Also , disconnect the battery , put rubber gloves over the terminals , cut the connectors off under the seats and solder the wires. You just cannot beat solder in this situation

A C5 hatch has come up for sale just around the corner and I am interested, but I know very little about the 2.2 173bhp engine. I have owned C5s before so know about their foibles (trailing arm bearings, climate control misbehaving etc) but this engine is new to me.

So finally fitted new battery to my other C5 after it has been sitting for best part of 3-4 ýears doing nowt since I got my Exclusive.

Tanks roberW for the link. Works a treat and car drives like a treat. Is now level with my )6 C5 on mileage. Brakes warning came on. So need to get these sorted. Probably have sticking calipers as...

Below are two steering wheels, left from a V6 Exclusive, right from a V6 Activa

WHY has the V6 Exclusive got that half moon box inside the wheel ?

On the V6 Exclusive wheel, there is also an LED (bottom right---little white tube and wire to it) under the right side finger switches ?

I was just going to say it looks thicker/more padded than standard... I have pretty big mitts too, I feel like that'd suit something comfy and leisurely like Black really well but surely it'd lose some of the precision/edge from an Activa's handling?

The perforated leather looks amazing though.

I had a gig on Tuesday night, my '97 series 1 Xantia was outside the pub.

Loaded up with PA and saxes and got in, start up and switch on both HRW and blower, as the car was covered in frost. Nothing happened, no power to either.

I only live a mile from this particular venue, so as I could see reasonably well, we drove home. Next couple of days...

Evening all, first post here. Have owned several French cars, mostly Peugeot and have just picked up a 1999 Xsara 1.6 with 68000 miles on the clock.
All seems ok so far.
I'm a bit of tinkerer and would like to fit aftermarket reversing sensors; has anyone done this to a 1999 model?
Any tips etc?

I did an oil change this week. after i finished i took my van for a run. there was a lack of power and i realised the turbo was not kicking in!

I had sleepness nights and 2 days to figure what was the problem!

I had knocked off a vacuum hose near the oil filter! this controls the turbo boost! phew!!! I thought my turbo was dead!!

Put it back...

Check all your lines for leaks and loose fittings. last resort is your pump is defunct! u can check it with a vacuum gauge.

Hi, I have a problem with a Citroen Dispatch 2.0 hdi on a 2009 when starting the engine creates a lot of blue smoke until it is warmed up and then disappears.
Is this a common problem any ideas what causing it and any cures. Thanks.

Hi I have this C3 1.4 petrol 2007, It starts and runs great for about 5/10 seconds and then cuts out, I can keep it running by playing with the accelerator pedal, until it gets warm . probably going in to closed loop. then it idles quite nice, I have checked the fuel pressure and that is good.

I have 2 fault codes
P0598 Controlled thermostat...

I have a 2005 1.4 petrol Citroen C3.

As the weather has been getting colder, it's becoming more and more difficult to start the car smoothly.

When I start the car in the morning, the revs go up an down (Hunting?) by themselves, sometimes for a few seconds sometimes for what seems like up to a minute, before eventually it 'catches on' and the car...

Had new timing belt fitted yesterday,couple of hundred meters for home this morning,hear a noise,a jerk and engine cuts out.just about got to my drive,lift bonnet and there,sitting between engine and inner wing is the ancillary belt,large pulley and bolt/washer !! The engine will only run for a few seconds ..has it damaged a sensor ?

Hello!

Recently I have bought a Xantia Activa 2.0 TCT. I have searched throughout the forum and I got some very useful information.

But still there is a problem that puzzles me. I think that the electrovalves are not working. I have done the Diode Mod, but I still get a harsh ride.
I can't hear the electrovalves buzzing and when I open the door...

Hi,

Anybody know why the handbrake light (!) and stop warning lights come on as soon as I go over 25 mph.

Fitted new front pads (needed done anyway).
Rear breaks fine.
Renewed DOT4 with DOT4 about 3-4 months ago.
No leaks from pipes or callipers.
Brake reservoir at maximum.
clutch works fine.
Car stops fine.
ABS works fine.
Any ideas anybody?...

I suspect you might be having the problem I read about a long time ago, the cause was the white piece connected to the lock button, on the right top corner:

From what I remember, when it moves, a litte spring (or something similar) moves inside and that's where the lock/unlock information comes from!

Hi
I have a relay 2.2hdi 2002
Runs fine from cold once the temp comes up to about normal running when you go to drive off it get to about 2/2.5 reverse gives two cracks out the exuast and ploom of black smoke and management light comes on and goes to limp mose
Changed crank, cam sensors, both vacuum solinoids erg valve and cleaned all pipe work...

Yes the install can be a pain, especially before I'd done a full-on factory reset on the computer (just deleting all other programs didn't leave it clean enough) the actual diagbox software on mine wasn't so much an issue but getting the USB driver to stay correct and not revert...

Hi all. I’m upgrading the brakes on my C15. There’s a turbo engine waiting to go in so I thought it’d be a good idea. 406 caliper and carriers fit the C15 hubs. The discs fit up too but I didn’t check when getting them from the scrap yard is if they all fit together. And they dont. I’m having clearance issues where the carriers meet the hubs...

A thread with a title like that was bound to stir my interest but, yes, I'm having a little difficulty visualising the problem too.

That said, I think 406 hubs are the way to go assuming, of course, that not only will they fit the struts but that they're compatible with the drive shafts.

Might be worth exploring the Pug forum for 406/205...
