Your experience with Sphere Life - C5 (Saucer) and pre-C5 (Sphere)

Post by aneesh84 »

There have been many discussions on different Brands of Spheres. It has been widely reported that the Original C5 type Citroen Saucer are multi-membrane and have a very long life, but aftermarket ones seem to vary a lot.

For us to have a general idea of experiences with different brands and types of spheres, I am creating this thread so all can share their experiences with differnt brands of Spheres.

Please mention the Car, Sphere type(Sphere or Saucer), Sphere Brand, Year bought, How long did they last, and how many Kilometres/Miles driven

This will be valuable for us to compare quality amongst differnt brands, and comparison between Sphere and Saucer life.

Sharing my experience:

Xantia Sphere bought in 2013 from IFHS lasted only 2 years.

In 2015 bought Xantia Lizarte Spheres, one of the front ones developed a leak from top in 4 years though were riding okay, the rear lasted 5 years. (Maybe the ride was not as good as new but were acceptable to me). Then changed to new Lizarte spheres and they are still okay.

I must remark that the Xantia doesnt drive so much, only about 5000 kms per year.
