My tank's cracked or split so I need it out. I've removed the nuts but I can't lift it out. The piece on the bottom of it that goes into the metalwork is holding it in place.
Is that piece just going into a hole or is there a pipe going through it?
Any tips on how to pop it out? I've tried a screwdriver but that was useless :-/

Noticed that the Xantia is a bit of a slug for standing start acceleration compared to my old BX TZD (or at least how I remember it) It just feels much heavier and lumbering by comparison. It does however feel very smooth & powerful cruising at 60/70 with mountains of torque.

From working under BXs etc I notice that there have been design improvements - eg the steel brake pipes terminating long before the extreme environment of the wheel arch and the cover over the front to rears....

Thanks for the rev counter reset tip! I pulled off the trip button - it put up a hearty fight and when it came out it was over an inch long!! Used a cable tie to nudge the needle back although it was reluctant to go at first.

Now I know what RPM I am at - I notice that even warm the tickover sits at 1000 rpm, which seems a little fast....

For a 2003 c5 2.0 hdi manual i belive citroen recommend Total BV 75W – 80W gearbox oil,
Is this correct, is this the best stuff to use, it appears to be mineral based,
Would there be any benefit (in terms of long life and smooth operation),
to using some of the newer more pricey fully synthetic oils out there, (any suggestions)

Mine has started playing up, in that it doesn't make proper contact if you push it right down for LH indicators - comes on with a light lift. Doesn't really bother me, but it might the MOT man! I may be interested in buying one of these berlingo's and may well just steer clear if it has the dreaded FAP.

Before any work took place i had a diagnosis check done my a local mechanic and the car is showing no faults.

After a sudden non start, it became apparent that i had no fuel going to the injectors from the bosch pump in the engine. Fuel is getting to the pump fine but nothing is reaching the injector...

The full beam has failed on the O/S headlamp and for the life of me I can't see how to get access to the back of the light unit!! There is an ECU & A/C plumbing behind the N/S and battery close the O/S.

How do you get the back off the light unit.

Quick question; Will a series 1 Xantia indicator stalk with all functions, fog lamps etc be compatible with a series 2 which also has fogs? The horn switch on the series 1 stalk isn't present on series 2 with the horn being in the wheel.

can anyone give me a clue.... What would cause a Hdi 110 to surge when first started.. It fires straight away then surges a few times with no resppnse to the throttle till it settles down to a smooth idle... The surging lasts no more then a few seconds but is very obvious..

Hi, my xantia 1.9Td vsx (1995) BMF 2(B) shorted.When 40A maxi fuse was installed, the dash board light will ON instantly even no ignition key was inserted.The ON dash lights is same as when ignition key is in Start/motor position.Psl give some advise.Thanks

A mate has put about 40 quid of Petrol in his Xantia Hdi. When he realised what he had done he did not start the engine. He however turned on the ign, to charge phone......thereby activating the pump in tank.
