Will 407 shock absorbers fit on MK3 C5 ?

Post by peshta »

Hi,

I was planing to order some Bilstein B8's for my C5 1.6 HDi 110 but discovered that they are not listed in Bilstein cataloque.
When I've checked PUG 407 1.6 HDi 110 they had them listed.

I already have H&R 40/40 springs which are same for C5 and 407 (100% exact same part number)

So I am wondering and I would be grateful if someone would share if they know, if 407 and C5 are sharing same shock's.

I've checked some cataloques (monroe, record france) and some of them are showing same part numbers to fit both vehicles.

Thanks all

They do carry different part numbers between Pug and Cit, but whether there's difference noticeable beyond that I can't say. Is there merit in asking Bilstein?

Last 8 numbers are:
54026356

Anyways I've found some photos of Bilstein B4's (OEM Replacement) shocks and they look pretty much the same, although the photo cannot be 100% relevant but still they are very very similar.
I've also sent an email to Bilstein.

Here is the comparison photo
Prednji means Front, Zadnji means Rear (as marked on photos)

As mentioned you'll see the Pug numbers start with 5202 instead of 5208.
