C5 Front wing

Post by Duracell »

After a slight error of judgement I find myself having the replace the front offside wing on my wife's 2003 C5 2.0HDi sx hatchback - Can anybody tell me if the hatchback and estate front wings are interchangeable - I get the impression from my searches on ebay that they are not, but I don't want to exclude possible sources.

Thanks

Richard

They are interchangeable. You don't mention how bad the damage is as they are a bit of a pain in the ass to change.
I'v found it a bit tricky removing the old panel (seam sealer) and then lining up the panel gaps properly on the new one takes a bit of care.
For a minor dent you might consider a paintless dent removal chap, as it may work out a lot easier and not too expensive,

no reason for them to differ Richard,

also it is usually cheaper to find a good second hand wing in the same colour,

try this company as the last time i visited them they had some MK1 C5's in

they must be one of very few old fashioned breakers left, were your allowed to climb over the cars and take bits off yourself

Many thanks - unfortunately although the damage is localized to the wing it is not minor so I think changing it will be simpler, even if it is a PITA. I will be looking for one in the same color. I've used Woodgate's in the past for xantia parts and got on well with them so I'll go and have a look.
