C5 estate split rear suspension large black pipe
I have an 03 2.0 petrol estate C5 and I have just noticed a hydraulic fluid deposit on the drive. I looked under and noticed fluid dripping from the large black pipe which is connected to the rear near side sphere. It appears to be completely cracked in two. Over the past few months the car has sunk over night could this be the cause? I think it has been cracked for some time! Could some one please advise me what this pipe does?, is it a Ctroen dealer part only, a part number would be a great help? and could some PLEASE send me a diagram or illustration as to where it is fixed. Thanks
Re: C5 estate split rear suspension large black pipe
its probably just a vent/seepage return coming from the cylinder boot,
if you send me the last 8 digits of your chassis/VIN No. i will check price and part No. on service citroen

Re: C5 estate split rear suspension large black pipe
Hi thanks for your reply. The last eight digits are 76251074. As I said the large black pipe is connected to the rear near side sphere and there is the same type of pipe connected to the offside sphere too. Thanks again for your kind help.
Re: C5 estate split rear suspension large black pipe
if its either of these pipes you can just cut out the damaged section, and join back together with a length of plastic or rubber pipe,
i would think someone has probably jacked the car up under were these pipes are and crushed them,
each cylinder boot has two pipes plugged into them,
this one
5270 QP
HYDRAULIC OIL BACK HARNESS
DIAM 5
run's from the O/S/R to the N/S/R cylinder boot and has a T connection in between the two, which a pope running to the front of the car plugs into,
this one is just a short length that is just a vent, one end plugs into the cylinder boot, and the other just pokes into the rear sub frame,
5270 PX
TANK VENTING PIPE
there are two of these one for each boot
service citroen is not letting me get price as yet but i will try again latter,

Re: C5 estate split rear suspension large black pipe
Thanks again for your help. I just what to add, this pipe is metal and not plastic and has a diameter of approx 10mm - 12mm so its a lot fatter and not plastic as like the usual vent pipes I have seen on BX's Xantia's etc. Thanks again Malcolm Regards Julian
