I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

So far i have done oil and filter change.

Air filter change

Pollen filter change (Old one ws moldy)

Got fuel filter coming tomorrow.

Have checked all fluid levels and they are fine..

So will be my first long drive in her.

Any other suggestions i should check and clean etc?

I have xara Picasso 03 and been told stalk stick for my indicators and lights is faulty because my instrument light panel goes out my lights come on indicators and hazard dont work how much new one and to fit?

The stalk is part of the Comms unit. There are a number of variations; it's important to get one that matches your car's control configuration (eg: foglights, rear wipe/wash etc).

To replace is not simple; the battery must be disconnected a good fifteen minutes before any work is done, then you remove the driver's airbag, then the steering wheel,...

It's failing to rev above 2000, and bellowing out thick black sooty smoke. I know this is due to not enough air in the fuel mix. So far I have blanked off the egr pipe, and disconnected the exhaust but it is still blowing thick smoke and...

Trying to simplify a motor swap with chip immobiliser.

The donor has something like an ID48 chip in the key. The recipient has an ID46.

Will the recipient's aerial be able to read the ID48 chip and pass the data to the donor Texton box and ECU?

I have read a lot about retro fitting cruise control but am struglling to find if it is easy to fit to a 2003/4 manual 1.8 VTR model. Before I go buying the stalk and switches can someone point me in the right direction to check what bits might allready be fitted to the car, and then maybe if someone lives not too far from rugby with lexia...

Pretty much, or you could post a pic, it says a thousand words. Some early 1.8's did have a cable throttles, I think by 2004 it will probably be motorised though but need to confirm.

i have a c5 2007 1.6hdi vtx+
the problem is no a/c also the drivers side climate only blows cold (not refrigerated air) luke warm and you cannot adjust it if you put it to max heat it stays the same
pasengers side gets hot when adjusted but no a/c the compressor doesnt start there is refrigerant in the system

any help appreciated

A/C System discharged is my (un)educated guess.

Facelifted C5s inherited the Peugeot 407 heater box and so it won't be the heater motor cog but, perhaps, a broken plastic flap within the box itself. Reinforced flaps are available from Peugeot/Citroen, costing £70.00 for a kit.

hi for 2 months i have owned and loved my 56 plate vtr until the common de pollution fault i am lucky in that i have good access to decent diagnostics including lexia the car is chuffing ie take the oil filler cap off and a rythmic discharge of smoke occurs.As the car now approaches 150k miles i am pondering reconditioned or known good replacement...

The fan that gave up, well I left it in there, left the dashboard etc off and ran the bus like that for months, whilst I waited to find a 3 pin fan...

Well MOT time came around (today) so I had to just suck it up and re-assemble the dash, sans working blower...

Put everything back together and re-assembled...

On a shopping trip to Lidl this morning, I spotted some stuff a decent prices
Specifically, they had a power inverter for £24.99. Great for charging laptops/tablets on the move etc. It came with leads for use directly from a car battery, and a plug for use from the 12v socket.

They had quite a few tempting bits and pieces, but I'm on a cost...

Since I've had my Xantia V6 the service indicator that appears during key on has always flashed zero, so as I completed an engine oil and filter change on the weekend (and have done fuel filter and air filter quite recently) I decided it was time to reset the service indicator which is done by holding down the reset button for a while...

Hi,

My 1974 Citroen DS Super 5 has recently developed a fault, it refuses to idle. I can start it but have to hold the accelerator over a thousand rpm to keep it running. I noticed a vacuum pipe from the inlet manifold is off, but my car has been converted to electronic ignition and can't see where it would attach to the distributor. Help!!! [-o<

I ordered an SFIF rebuild kit before i pulled off the carb. It dosesn't fit, not even close.
I do like to keep things how i found them. I have put it all back together as i need to move the car and it is the the gasket that joins top and bottom halves of the carb which i damaged pulling it apart, so may just make a new one.

Recently my 2000 Xsara HDi has been pulsing, ie lacking power when driving down a 3 mile stretch of motorway which is all downhill. Uphill it seems fine. Its been getting steadily worse making me think there is a fuel pressure issue.

Apparently the car has had a clutch, new diesel tank,high pressure fuel pump,common rail pressure...

When my estate is ticking over there is some engine vibration noticeable in the car, its not a lot but the 406 with the same engine has none, it also vibrates at about 1500 rpm when pulling, the 406 also does this but not nearly as much. I have changed the dog bone stabiliser but this has made no difference although I think there is less vibration...

Hi everyone I have an 04 estate that I am having trouble with, sometimes after I stop the car the tailgate won't open
nor will the rear window after locking and unlocking the car a few times it does open, I have changed the micro switch

Anyone heard of Avon tyres. Are they any good and would they last on the front of a Cit think the model would be the ZV3s (?)

I've used Avons for the front rims on both the C5 and the Xsara. 215s on the C5 and 195s on the Xsara. I found no fault with them other than the fact that they lasted less than 19000 miles on the C5. On the Xsara they did a bit better at 24K.

I have sussed it..

I was going about this the wrong way. You don't program the Comm 2000 unit. This is essentially plug and play .

What you program is the ESP function by using Lexia to calibrate the turn on the steering wheel.

Hi,

I hope someone can help. I have a 2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi 138HP VTR+ - it has just over 40,000 miles on the clock.

Recently, and intermittently, it has started to vibrate quite badly. When the problem occurs, the following symptoms are present:
It happens when the car is stationary as well as moving.
Idle speed has dropped to approx 750...

2.0 HDi Xantia, which fuel filter?

Hi all,

I want to change the fuel filter on my 2001 Xantia HDi 110 but I don't know which type I need, I hear there are 2 sorts. My filter housing has two connections on the top, not three if that makes a difference.

Any ideas?

If its any help on a 406 the one without the multiplug was the most common, on these we fitted just the filter element.

The other type with the plug, a rarer fitment. I seem to remember we had to fit the whole unit for these as there was no element available back then (like the 1.4HDi it was the whole lot ) it may of changed since then though.

Sticky brakes

Hi

My c5 was in for MOT yesterday and failed on the brakes, tester says the front brake was sticking and would be either the calipper or the cables.
Is there any way I can find out exactly which one it is?

I've found that the handbrake levers on the callipers get stiff, sometimes seized, due to the road salt getting past the seals, they can be freed off by applying plenty of WD 40, (use a thin blade to ease the seal back from its facing so that the lube can get in) then work the lever back and forth until it's free.

Is it possible to get traffic information like flow of traffic, congestion etc on the myway (RNEG) from `09?
The only traffic information i get on my system is roadwork, but I don`t know if that is because the MyWay system is limited to this
or because no one is transmitting traffic flow in Norway in a format that MyWay can understand.

Always give it a bit of time. Many faults codes take a wee while to clear. Light bulbs, tyre pressure sensors, low oil warning etc, might take a few starts of the car before disappearing. Don't panic!, as Corporal Jones would say. :wink:

Had a visit from Bandit12 today to pair a new key up for him.
Was an interesting visit, and proved that my Lexia worked with a different C5 (a 2.2 HDI auto) :D

Anyway doing the general run through of faults, there were a few that appeared, most notably was some Auto gearbox ones.

I think the lights were different shapes, certainly the tail lights and probably side lights. If you get the front wings you might need the sidelight cluster and indicator repeater as well.

The Synergie, 806 and Useless were mainly distinguished by trim, upholstery and lights. I think the Useless could be ordered with a 3 seat bench for row 3....

Yes, the good blast in second or third, engine hot, clears loads of cr_p. Essential if my wife has been driving it for a few days as she rarely gets above 2500 rpm.

I think they were supposed to idle at 800 or so, but mine turns over at 1000. Originally there was a throttle damper, if you look where the cable ends under the bonnet the damper...

Hi all some time since I posted,I bought this 2009 VTR 1.8 Petrol C5 in Jan 2012,the dealer or somebody had changed all the road tyres to Marshall Matrac XM 255/55/ZR17 101W XL,of course it should have had Michelins on but at 20,000 miles I did not kick up about it as I bought it very cheap and the tyres were new,well the weird bit is the spare...

When I lift off the old Loud pedal theres a bearing-esque noise from the gearbox. It's also present when reversing.

Doesnt sound like a typical thrust bearing, as (in my mind) it sounds a bit more affected by the gearbox casing (as in the noise a casing makes when you tap it.... with a hammer! :p )

Well got the part and there is a clip/metal tie wrap that is £4+ but im going to try and take it off gentley first and see if it can come away as im sure i have the right tool to get the thing back on. Other than that the fella said that a tie wrap can do just as good a job :)

The orignal one was still in there was black and had mould growing on it...

Needs less to say all cleaned out and a hell of a lot nicer smell in car and teh fans now work as they should.

Why block it with a code at all if you still need Lexia hardware to use it, the code is the same for all cars, and it seems to be widely known...
I remember reading about this, it was supposed to be selected people (or person) at the dealership that would have the code, so the front monkeys...
