Bought a Citroen Xsara Picasso a few weeks ago, it was sitting at the car dealers for a while and then with me for over a week. Went to start it and no luck. Did a jump start and it was fine, only got driving it for about 15 mins though.

Had to leave the car unfortunately for another 6 days before going near it and guess what? Dead again! Tried...

Got a c5 2.0 hdi 2002 to play with AA diagnosed as low pressure pump failure i have diagnosed bad pump circuit.
When jumped with 12v the pump runs engine might even start if i hadn't changed the internals of the filter and failed to reassemble properly - diesel all over the floor. :)

I have spotted a few references to on board computers giving fuel consumption figures etc on Xantias and they are often advertised as a feature. I haven't found one on my HDI exclusive mk2 and yes I have RTFH.
Can anyone throw any light on this? Were they a cost option or standard on some models only?

However, I have my first request for help already as I've ordered a workshop manual, which is yet to arrive and I'm looking to get started on the van by changing the oil, filter + sump plug, but I was wondering...

In the photo below there's an aircon flap motor with a long splined shaft.

The standard motor is the one on the right which has a short spline.

The motor with the long spline is a mod and can be fitted if the splined hole in the flap chews up and the flap stops working.

So, does anyone know where the long spline version can be purchased....

I have a fuel leak on my Xsara Picasso 2.0 2004 diesel :cry: . On the pump at the bottom sort of at the front there is a cover with 4 T40 torx screws. The diesel is flowing from this interface when running.

Can I just remove this cover and re-seal?

If so can it be done without removing the fuel pump. If I do have to remove the fuel pump...

My Xantia has an annoying problem with the heater, it's either a furnace at 30 degrees or blowing cold a couple of notches down with no in between. Is there an easy fix or do I need to attack the dashboard with torx bits? 8-[

Aware the engines are very thermal efficient, hence why I want to get the Eberspacher thingy working, however what temp should the car get to? Just wondered if I have a faulty thermostat.

Temp does not seem to go above 75 degrees, ie does even not reach half way, normally about a third of the way up.

How easy or difficult is it to do a head gasket change on a 2.0 hdi engine in a C5?

Have been looking at cheap Xantia's - some spares or repairs (hence my other recent threads) but come across a C5 with what sounds like head gasket failure. It is a 2.0 HDI and the cooling system is over-pressurising.
