Welcome to the world of MoT's and changing regulations......just wait 1/2 and there will be at least 3 areas of advice.

1. Do NOT do it, it will fail MoT
2 Do NOT do it, clean/replace filter/Eolys and stop killing children and puppies
3 Do it, it may or may not work....but I know a guy who did it and it turned the car into gold/ did it got a warning, took it off....

I am at No 2.....fix the car and stop killing puppies (kids...Yuk...go ahead and mow the little bu66ers down its quicker)

Err....having a wang on the motorway is surely dangerous ?

I would not use Redex, however I would give it a good push for 20 odd mins. 70mph in 4th seems just about right.

Did you know you can remove them and clean with a jet wash. Are you getting a "Blocked Filter" or "Low Eolys" ?...... or just a "Poss of Blockage" message ?

Also, what car/year/engine is it ?
Do you have a Lexia ?

Take the DPF off, chuck some acidic wheel cleaner in it, allow to sit for half hour and then jet wash all the crap out. Alow to drain/dry for another half hour and re-install. MOT in future will include a check for a working DPF if fitted as OE equipment by the manufacturer.

how easy is this to remove and clean?

Would not know where to start.

Last time i did anything mechanical to my car was to replace the alternator.

Just as hard as removing an exhaust, a few bolts and brackets with the odd sensor plug.........its that easy/hard
