service.citroen and Chrome

Post by Old-Guy »

The service.citroen French language home page (only) is showing the following message:

ATTENTION : LA NOUVELLE VERSION V34 DE GOOGLE CHROME N'EST PAS COMPATIBLE AVEC CITROEN SERVICE, LA COMMANDE DE PIECES NE FONCTIONNE PLUS AVEC CETTE VERSION, NOUS PRECONISONS L'UTILISATION D' INTERNET EXPLORER!

Roughly translates as:

WARNING: THE NEW VERSION V34 OF GOOGLE CHROME IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH CITROEN SERVICE, THE PARTS FACILITIES DO NOT WORK WITH THIS VERSION, WE RECOMMEND THE USE OF INTERNET EXPLORER.

I wouldn't ever recommend the use of Internet Explorer because of its inherent security weaknesses. I've been happily using service.citroen with Firefox under Linux Mint (Chrome is in effect a Linux Distro) using the latest Linux core.

Have you tried it with Chromium?

Perhaps it's only the French version that's problematic? :rofl2:

I cleared my search history, cookies etc etc a couple of nights ago. I've just gone into service.citroen to try to solve my fuel pipe sizes puzzle and noticed the message (service.citroen defaults to French if personal settings have been cleared).

Thought I might help some poor soul unable to get service.citroen to work.

No, never have Steve. I find FF does everything I need absolutely perfectly so never felt the need. Should I?

Seems huge numbers of Windows users use it...

Not nesser-celery Jim. I have it to be able to have multiple email and YT accounts open at the same time and find it convenient, some features, while not essential, are useful.
