Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

So one thing fixed and another appears :roll:

I have this random stuttering problem like a misfire or the brakes being tapped while driving along not necessarily accelerating.

The RPM needle might drop momentarily, the speed limiter will disengage and the multifunction display will come up with the seat belts not fastened warning and return to...

The floor of my Synergie is tilted upwards at the back, and the wheel arches are at different heights on the front and back. I assume this is to compensate for extra weight in the back.

How easily, and safely could I lower the suspension on the back to the same as the front?

Morning all,
The ol' wagons getting a little slower on the suspension side on starting lately, also when giving it some Citrobotics, i seem ti remember that they are not quite as quick as the BX is on the lever adjustment, but, would a lhm swap with hydraucinicage give it a little more Zest (for want of a better word!)???

Another thing that can cause the suspension to be slow to rise or fall is a partially seized height corrector linkage - especially on the rear height corrector.

If the linkage can only move a small amount instead of over it's full range then the height will still be regulated but because the height corrector valve can only partially open each way...

Me again - so sorry. Yesterday I posted about the rubber return pipe on the front suspension. (Xantia 1.9TD, 1994) LOADS of replies - thank you BUT...BUT when my bf removed the split pipe he noticed an occasional tiny drop of suspension fluid dripping out of the bottom of the gaiter at the bottom of the suspension strut. Is there anybody out there...

i suspect as you have used a hose clip you have squished the block to the point it is curling outwards at the edges,
or you have not lined the center of the block up with the hole in the strtut,

all you need to fit a new leg pipe clip is a pair of carpenters pincers

Since I got my car the oil Temp gauge has sat at around 110 rather than 90 degrees as expected. There were a lot of running issues to begin with but now they are mostly repaired. What could possibly cause the increased temperature and how would I check? The car is on about 105k and in a decent state of service although there are a couple of small...

I bought this car from I guess a dodgy dealer.On first start of the day takes about 5 goes and is noisy & smokey, but is OK starting rest of day and runs very well returning about 47 mpg around town . If its an 8 valve engine the pressure regulator on the HP pump can cause all sorts of problems including poor starting, I don't know if the system is the same on the 16 valve.

Hi, I'm hoping someone can advise on this. Just changed the broken spring on the front passenger strut, and pulled too much on the hub when removing the strut, causing the driveshaft to partly come out of the gearbox and dump quite a lot of oil on the floor.

Using the haynes manual, I located the filler/level check plug and removed it. Oil...

Certainly changed the engine oil a few times, never even looked for a gearbox :(

recently. A C1 feel 1.0 petrol.
There is nothing really wrong with the car, if you are happy to just drive for the sake of getting from A to B as cheaply as possible.
The engine was noisy. The boot was tiny. The power was woeful. The gear-change was notchy.

Hi all the rear end of my 2.0 hdi estate looks very low, at rest with the engine off the top of the tyre is up inside the wheel arch, where as on my 1.9tdi there is a gap, any ideas why this should be, I've only just bought the hdi so not familiar with it, many thanks for any help.

I know this subject has come up before and someone advised that the paint code for a 2.0 hdi is under the bonnet and they posted a photo and said it would end in MR for an estate, my code is EWPA and its white, is that the code I need to buy paint, many thanks.

Hi everyone The problem im having is annoying car starts ok and runs great however when after 10 mins or so and i come to a stop the idle seems to drop right off and the oil light flashes and the car beeps 3 times but no engine management light comes on When i pull away the car runs great until i come to a stop again etc etc All help appreciated...

If the fault code is related to the DPF then it's nothing to do with the EGR valve.... maybe! Google suggests the fault is not uncommon, and may relate to failed pressure sensor, or sensing pipe, or maybe someone's drilled a hole in the DPF and not told the ECU :lol:

I drive a C5. Symptoms are that when driving the car started to judder and the clutch pedal locked up (cannot press it in). Also the accelerator pedal is very slack and not like it normally is. Any help appreciated.

Gentlemen,

I need help. I have just bought a Synergie.
When I went to look at the car it was running ok. Now the thing will not start.
I've searched the net but can't find any Electrical diagrams which would be helpful.
The dashboard lights seems ok but the stop light is flashing.
When I turn the key there is nothing not even a click.
Any help...

Hi all

I have a c5 v1 2.2 hdi 2001 plate.

As i drive a whole 4 miles to work ecery day get the message pop up saying Unblock disel filter

I know its the dpf moaning. So if i go on motorwat it goes into limp mode anti polution fauilt etc so revs dont get high.

But to be fair i did drive from one junction to another turned it off and it went...

Is there any way of adjusting the screen wash nozzle on my C4 GP?
Every time I use the screen wash, the left passenger side is fine but the drivers side goes straight over the roof.
A bit dangerous this time of the year with the roads being so dirty.

Got it all cleaned out but it still goes over the roof.
I popped the nozzle back out & put a thin bit of plastic under it & refitted the nozzle. Job done & working great.

Had the rear set fitted to the front last year but they are badly cut up. Need to fit two new fronts.

Can't afford to buy premiums now, due to buying a new house so recommendations would be welcome for a couple of decent tyres.

There are wide reports within the tyre trade of some Avon tyres becoming out of shape. What I've heard is its more towards the ZZ5 performance tyres but still some thing to bare in mind.

Having said that. On my old Tsport yaris I had a set of new Avon ZV5 and they were fab!

Another instrument panel (illumination) bulb has blown. I removed the instrument cluster from the VSX while stripping it, but that's a lot different to just removing the cluster to change bulbs as the steering wheel, stalks and switch bar had already been removed! Could some kind soul give me the basic steps to remove just the cluster please?...

Just seen a '94 XM estate, 2.0 petrol automatic for spares/repair near us and I'm interested. The car needs welding for MoT (I can do that probably, would have to look) and the usual electrical foibles to go through, but the main thing that worries me is that the gearbox has a fault, described as and I quote There is a problem with the automatic...

Hopped into the car today and went to start her up. Engine barely turned over and made a funny howling sound. Checked the terminals - all fine. Wipers etc seemed to have plenty of go, but thought flat battery .

Well, €500 later, she's back on the road. The mechanic went all CSI on the knackered oil pump and here's what he reckons:
One of the impeller vanes became embedded in the side of the pump housing. This could be due to a flaw in the housing, or the vane just broke off the rotor. This seized the pump which made it very hard for the starter to turn...

I have a spanner symbol on the odometer to show that I am due for my 100,000 mile service but all the work has been done.

The problem is that the button on the odometer that you normally use to reset the service spanner doesn't work. Is there another way to reset it, maybe using my Lexia?

Yeah, the button does nothing at all.

I turned out resetting it from the maintenance menu on the Lexia.

Someone please explain how to adjust the thing. My cars stuck on high since I did the bottom arms. I stupidly disconnected the band around the roll bar rather than unpopping the clip. I've spent a he last 4 hours trying to set it but whatever I try if its connected the thing goes to high and if disconnected goes to low.

Thanks, got it now. I was following your procedure but with little success. Turned out I had to adjust about 45deg outside of the little cutout which made me assume that was the range of adjustment. Riding at 3 fingers now so happy. Front is still hard but I still need to do the centre sphere so I guess its expected. I remember softer before the...

Hello

Recently found a 2001 Xantia V6; it's been two weeks now and have started to get to know each other: bit like an arranged marriage me thinks, she's done 120k and has started to settle down, reveal her secrets.

Recently two things happened on my C8 at the same time:

When I go into reverse my parking sensors sometimes give a continuous beep.
My trip computer (rectangular display just below the speedo etc.) is sometimes blank and when it decides to start up the time and date are reset.
If I connect my Lexia I can see that (errors are from memory):...

I've just bought a Xantia 2.0 hdi 90 bhp and among the bills is one for a Tiger tuning box, my mate who I bought it off knows nothing about it, previous owner maybe,I'm not sure if its been fitted or not, has anyone had any experience of this device, many thanks,

could someone advise me of how to access the geabox top mount on the later xantias. On the earlier models you simply removed the battery. On the hdi models the lhm resevoir and abs unit sit right on top of it.

Hi guys

I have the usual issue of some bulbs out in the dash which come on if you thump them, however the heater lights up okish but your slider knobs themselves do not which I am sure the did on my 1.8?

Am i correct?

Yes tim it means the top bulb in the holder is working but the lower one is out..

a bit of a pita fiddle to to get them out and back in from the heater panel.. but radio out and radio holder out.. and then pop out the top of the heater panel out and then you will see the plug to the bulb holder ...

Well I'm trying to install Diagbox 7.02 on my laptop, as my friend has Citroen DS5 4x4 hybrid, and the car doesn't start. Previously I had Diagbox 5.xx which was working fine and presumable I have a Chinese clone, but I not sure, as I bought it second hand about a year...

Yes I have managed to get my DiagBox running with the latest update. I had to reinstall it few times (including reinstalling WinXP :evil: ). If you have a clone DON'T!!! connect to PSA update center. You should use offline updates that you got from your supplier.

Hi, I got a BX time clock to fit into my AX. I can't find the pinout of the clock itself

from up to down:

1. ??
2. connects to the time adjust buttons (12v+ or 12v-)
3. 12v -
4. 12v + (illumination or .....)

I *think* its the same as the 205 with a digital clock (mounted in centre console) found on GTi's and some DT's / XS's. It looks identical, at least from memory.

yes with different pinout that didn't match with citroen.

Hi have a large bag of goodies to to sell off.
Rear anti sink sphere Mk1 zanty estate 97 got little while back tested and a ok from Edwardes
Set of injectors from 1.9TD was working fine changed engine and kept these.
Camshaft pulley older non web style version kept as some newer ones crack/fail!
1.9TD complete turbo and manifold as good took of...

What would cause a rainbow to appear behind /under the car? Seem to have developed this issue in last couple of weeks. Had a look inbi engine bay. Timing belt side of car seems to have wet oil down the side. Alternator belt a little squeeky in mornings when cold. Can't see if there's a join in block where wet oil is. have tried parking car...

Hi folks

Just fitted my 3rd new ball joint into the N/S on the Xantia in less than 2 years! Replaced O/S and N/S 24k miles ago, then last September, I did the N/S again- as the old one had a lot of play.(this is after c18k miles), this one did have a split in the gaiter, which may have been caused by me fitting it so fair play to that one. Fitted...

are you sure the play is in the joint and not were the swivel pin goes into the arm, i have seen play at this point in the past, either through just were from several swivels being replaced, or through over tightening the swivel nut and stretching the eye in the arm,
otherwise could be fake parts or from that E*C*P bunch ( no difference really)

Noticed the past week that the car was riding a bit rougher, enough so that I ended up thinking the 206's suspension was ok! Did a bleed of the pump/tank/acc circuit today along with some citroebics and while it was going down I noticed there was a lot of bubbles trapped in the LHM filter you can see from the filler hole. They didn't seem to...
