Hi, new to the forum another matter my C5, but asking this for a friend. His gearbox has gone faulty and the garage he uses has diagnosed a faulty 'solonoid' which in my research amounts to the Actuator or part of it. Anyway the cost of a dealer part is £1500 plus the dreaded VAT plus the labour. Looking around there are a couple of Actuators on EBay for around £300. There is one in particular which is from a Citroen C4 Picasso 1.6Hdi and comes with the ECU. This one is from a vehicle the same year as his. I have take screen shots and sent them to him so he can let his garage check them out against his for the part numbers on it. Would anybody know if this is the same as the Citroen Berlingo 1.6Hdi? Understand that if it is fitted complete with the ECU that it would need to be programmed in to the vehicle for it to work but that is not a problem. Or would it work ok with his ECU?
Thanks for any help that can be offered.

Re: Citroen Berlingo Semi Automatic Gearbox Actuator
These systems are a total nightmare when they go toes up.
They have a lot of procedures to be followed and require recalibrating when certain work is undertaken on them. These systems were fitted across a range of vehicles, and you cannot just fit another ECU to the other vehicle if they are different, as the software is designed with a lot laws and parameters for each engine vehicle they are fitted to. They are very complex systems. so it is essential to replace with the correct part number.
I have had a brief look and confirm that the parts are varied between vehicles, so not recommended. I suggest you try and locate an identical part. If you have the VIN of the car needing the new part, I can provide you with the PSa part numbers and this may help in sourcing another replacement.

Re: Citroen Berlingo Semi Automatic Gearbox Actuator
As there are quite a few components and Idon't know specifically what part your friend would be after, I've just put the lot up here in a table as far as the Gearbox Actuator goes. Just click to zoom these up.
So the Berlingo is a Stop Start model:
BERLINGO PRIVATE VEHICLE (B9) FAMILY SALOON 1.6 HDi 92 (DV6DTED) piloted manual gearbox 6 (With stop and start)
