Given the number of 'After-sales campaign' notices concerning Takarta Airbags I have been made aware of when looking up parts from PSA for members, I thought I would post a link to the following documentary that may be informative concerning the issue with these igniters.

According to Takata, the chemicals in the airbags’ explosive charge can...

Disruption to Parts Service

This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

I wonder if re-partitioning the old HDD might sort out the boot sector problem? The manufacturers know that sectors can fail over time, and so they they make them with extra capacity to allow for failed sectors to be 'swapped out' (for want of a better explanation).

One of the big former French 3, after being first out of the blocks with the Twizy, then being overtaken and overshadowed by the Citroen Ami and the buzz around it, have responded with the Duo and Bento on their way in 2023.

Electrive has a decent article here
Mobilize presents the Duo and Bento city vehicles

Horse's mouth stuff from Mobilize...

Reversed out of my driveway the power dropped off and a big orange spanner flashed on the dash with a message Check the electrical system. which then changed to Check the hill start assistance.
Switched it off and back on again and all's ok  I hope that's not something about to die.

According to the service records the 12v battery is good until next October, change every three years.
Some interesting stuff in your links, I wonder about the brake pedal wiring connections, I have a rubber mat that gets tucked up under the pedal at times, need to check that..............when it stops raining.

I tried to to an arty sort of car brochure-ey photo of my BB Micra and nicked a slogan from Nissan to describe it

You can in a Nissan

So in quick fire fashion lob up a few examples of the slogan/marketing phrase/tagline from the world of motoring and let's assemble a collection of the best and the worst and bludgeon off topic on various...

I made the mistake of dealing with a company I've used twice in the past for 'aftermarket accessories' both of those times, I got a great personal service, an outstanding product and would have happily recommended them to anybody. This time. things are a little different two weeks down the line I have no product, have received zero customer...

The New Era

My English teaching daughter tells me that the Elizabethan age has been succeeded by the new Carolean age.

I personally think that sounds wrong, and if it is right then it should be changed to a more accurate representation of the name Charles so I was curious to get other people's views? :)

King Carole sounds a bit silly though.

Carole King has always sounded very agreeable to me...

I've got this little garden tiller that won't run, checked all the wiring and all's fine down to the motor and the motor looks all good but switching it on just makes an attempt to start then nothing. the grey item is warm to touch, I'm assuming it's a kick start capacitor for the motor but there are no markings on it so just...

Flip, that's impressive.

I did worry when she started digging in to the windings and cutting them out though. I'll have to assume that they'd been tested and found to be no good as I would've tried to reuse them myself. I also like to hold solder further away from the soldering iron!

Spam calls

I have often thought how to respond to spam calls trying to get my bank details, years ago while at our place in France I got a call on the house phone from Microsoft saying I have something on my computer. The guy went straight into English although we are in the French phone book and not French. Anyway played him on a while when he asked me to...
