Zoe gave me a scare!
Reversed out of my driveway the power dropped off and a big orange spanner flashed on the dash with a message "Check the electrical system." which then changed to "Check the hill start assistance."
Switched it off and back on again and all's ok
I hope that's not something about to die.

Hopefully a glitch Gibbo caused by some sort of combination of circumstances and not a regular reappearer.Gibbo2286 wrote: 30 Sep 2022, 11:47 Reversed out of my driveway the power dropped off and a big orange spanner flashed on the dash with a message "Check the electrical system." which then changed to "Check the hill start assistance."

A possible pointer from SpeakEv forum, Another mentioned checking the 12 V battery
Regards NeilI've read elsewhere on forum that another user had hill start/esc error caused by faulty brake switch so hoping it's something simple like this - but if anyone has other helpful suggestions re what could be the problem that would be helpful as like to be as clued up as possible when speaking to the service desk/techs.

Re: Zoe gave me a scare!
The "Check Electrical System" may well relate to the 12V Battery
REgards NeilThanks for that info Alan. It doesn't sound like a 12 Volt system issue That usually leads to a "Check Electrical System" error, though if the 12 V is acting up, you can get the weirdest errors indeed. As you're seeing ESC and hill assist messages, which are all brake related (ick!!!) my bet is somewhere in that area.

Odd thing for a thread, this one on SpeakEV had a resolution for the OP question.

REgards NeilZoe's back from the menders- Renault digbeth nicely efficient.. called me to explain they'd captured loads of messages on the diagnostics relating to brake pedal switch, which they checked and found loose connection, and also missing harness clips which I'll have to go back to get fitted as didn't have any in stock. Couldn't find any diagnostics relating to the 'battery charging impossible' error, but been no re-appearance so fingers x'd that's it sorted now.

Re: Zoe gave me a scare!
According to the service records the 12v battery is good until next October, change every three years.
Some interesting stuff in your links, I wonder about the brake pedal wiring connections, I have a rubber mat that gets tucked up under the pedal at times, need to check that..............when it stops raining.
