Help wanted

Unread post by xantia_v6 »

The administrators of this site receive, from time to time, proposals for providing advertising space on the forum. We never accept such offers.

I thought that our users might help draft a suitable reply to this one?
Hello,
My name is Eugene, and I represent a project related to gambling. I discovered your site while surfing the internet and it is very informative and useful.
I would like to publish an article, I hope you post similar articles on your site, and if you have other sites, I would like to see a complete list.
If you are willing to give us a proposal for posting, send us your recommendations or requirements for the topic and content of the article
Best wishes Eugene

Ask them to put together an article on the nature of infinity. We'll score it out of 10²⁷for them. We've got some people that know about infinity here :rofl2:

"a project related to gambling"

What an odd phrase. I've tried and tried, but the only thing I can make sense of it meaning is
"I make tombolas"
surely a rare skill and likely useful asset to our endeavours on FCF.

So I propose you ask for a submission of an article from Eugene, but that you reserve the right to select the topic. Obviously others on the forum may be more creative, but my suggestion of title is

"The dying art of tombola-smithing and it's relevance to the typical french car owner/maintainer"

I think 5000 words a suitable minimum, don't you?

I disagree, one always has to be polite and thank the person for their email.

The way his thread is turning is reminiscent of the way I deal with scam phone calls.

I feign some sort of civility and let them burble on for a while about how they're from Microsoft, BT or "your energy supplier". I'll play along with their requests until I get tired of the conversation and tell them, in a smooth modulated voice that they're "a filthy scammer" and to " *&(% off and die in screaming agony". I then terminate the call before they have a chance to respond.
