You may or may not have read my grumbling:
MattBLancs wrote: 02 Dec 2022, 18:21 Oh, may be an update on the wheel bearing situation, will dig into it tomorrow and add findings here.

Better yet if I can get GSF website to behave then I'll get some associated bits ordered.
Well in the end, having failed to do an online chat, failed to get an answer on their central number and of course failed to complete the order online for delivery, I tried a new approach,

I rang the local branch number and asked if they could order it for me. Quoted the part number and "yes, we can get that, be here Monday dinnertime"

I checked the price with him then and have been this evening to pay and pick it up.

Does anyone want to play "guess the price" for my lovely new CV joint (includes rubber boot and hub but too)

I'm pretty confident, unless you cheat and look on GSF's website, that you won't get it right! :-D

(If I get this forum trickery right!), here's the "spoiler" concealing the answer

Wow! Result :D Love it!

It doesn't happen very often but it's great when it does!

I once got a 'free' XUD9 cylinder head from a scrapyard. They knew the value of it and charged accordingly... I used my credit card to pay which at the time was being transferred to a new provider... I must have caught it just right as the transaction never appeared on my statements... I know not if the scrapyard got their money... I did not dare to ask!

Right now, I'm wondering if the DLVA are ever going to present my cheque for Bluebell's VED for payment or have I scored a fee year of VED? Fingers crossed!

Good work on the "slipped through the gap" cylinder head, though I expect DVLA just being just even slower than you thought possible! Fingers crossed all the same!

I think the CV joint is probably a computer error, and am grateful we live in a world where folks generally shrug and do what the computer tells them! Bloke behind the counter reconned I'd last one in the company (otherwise I would have got a pair of them!)

Am on somewhat of a roll with "mis-priced" car parts, last month I bought a new particulate filter from Autodoc,

Here's the current listing of it:

Versus the price I paid:

No I couldn't quite believe it either

Generally I expected a "we're terribly sorry, there appears to have been a slight error" and a refund but that's twice now that "well the computer says so, bang it out the door at that price" attitude has prevailed much to my amazement and delight!

I ordered some ram seals off ebay the other week. I'd noticed the price had been dropping but by the time I ordered them the entire price charged to me was less than the postage charge - shome mishtake, shurely
