Damn!

Finally got around to giving the car a thorough wash yesterday, first time it's been warm enough, looked out this morning and it's covered in a film of fine gritty sand, going to have to get the hose out again. :x

I used to be able to wash, polish, seal & vacuum my car in a day, but now it's either one of the three. So before polish and / or when it's too cold, I exploit those in my local hand car wash that way I keep warm and dry, and just pay the £6.
Also Keeps the economy going.
And, paying for a decent polish & sealer really makes a difference.

Yes, I was going to use the pay six quid option but it all seemed too daunting so just drove past.

I've given up car washing at the moment, as just thinking about it seems enough for the rain clouds to draw near!

Also if I wash the C5, then have to do my wife's 206, at which point seems rather unfair to ignore the Coupe, and then the 306 is quite literally gathering moss, so the accessible areas of that get a quick goings over.

Now have a gizmo that fires snow foam, which unfairly gives the illusion I know what I'm doing. It also means pressure washer is out, so is only a short stretch of the imagination and I'm blasting the driveways before starting the car wash marathon.

So easiest not to think about it, and save a full weekend worth of time spent playing about getting wet!

Having said that, the very last time I set to do that, I gained a helper and we both had a great time. So perhaps that is next weekend planned out!
Man the hoses!

I'm currently cleaning my motorbike before going seeing Mick, Jim and James tomorrow. I know it'll be as grotty as it was before I started washing it by the time I get to them, but at least I can take a nice picture of it and tell them I tried not to turn up on a filthy beast.

Yep, I can never escape with washing just one car... Often all three and my bikes...

I try to keep mine clean in the winter and especially underneath... I'm keen to wash off any salt...

I may not do a very good job most time but it is passable and meets the need... Having a hose pipe easily accessible is a huge help...

I also like to frequently dust and vacuum mine out... I can just about tolerate a car being a bit grubby outside but not inside...

This time of the year I tend to get a very muddy driver's footwell mat after trail running... My garden benefits from the regular addition of new topsoil from this source

I can do two of my cars in around an hour, both in and out. Add another thirty minutes for all three and the bikes...

Just got back from the £10 handwash having been shamed into it by Mike's effort for tomorrow!! :-D

The MX3 will have to wait because the last time I subjected it to their jetwash, it shed some paint off the plastic bumper so having repainted that I don't want to go down that road again!! :-D

My wheels are always black. Stupid things are far too difficult to clean so they get a quick splash and abandoned.

Do you live in some HOA land?
I have a problem vacuuming and washing my car as the parking areas are so far from the house.
I can do it outside my back gate but it impedes access to the parking area at the rear of the house.
Apart from that none of the neighbours care in the slightest.

I used to have that issue Steve until I found this particular cleaner. It really is spray on, leave to turn purple then rinse off. Sparkling wheel and no effort!! If exceedingly soiled best done twice allowing the wheel to dry between applications but if you do it regularly, 21 days ish, one go works fine!! :-D

I used to be one of the fussiest guys about cleaning the car. When I drove a fish van I even cleaned it every day! However now I am unable to do much physical stuff so the yeti is ceramic coated and just gets a jet wash at the petrol station. The caddy van gets washed when it rains and has never seen a hoover since I bought it.
