Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

i just saw the other day a site with several citroën prototypes and i recall reading there that the design was originally for volvo, but they refused or declined the project from bertone, who gave it to citroën.

Q. Will the 'Easy Fuel Saver' void my Citroen bx car warranty ?
A. No. Since 'Fuel Saver Device' is an aftermarket removeable device, it will not void your vehicles warranty.

Vanny. If you do find it's more than a dead turbo, and need a 1769ccTD engine to go straight in, I still have an ex-405 TD available. It's in brilliant condition with recent head skim & gasket. With the serious lack of space I now have with this 'ere Digit, I'd be willing to part with it for next to nothing.
And I'd be only too happy to shove it...

Good luck. There are several firms pottering about which can do things with those sorts of displays, one I am thinking of is a firm called Fylde Electronics who remanufactured some Rockwell Aim 65 displays when I was at college - these were similar but in red.

Gotit. After the last waste of time, when I went to go and get a BX DTR which left me stranded for a day, this collection went much better!

I have just become the owner of an early Citroen Xantia SX TD. It's my very first foray into real Citroens (had an AX years ago) after many Peugeots, including 405 Diesels and 205 Diesels.
I still have a Peugeot though, my very much loved and papmered 205 GTi. I have got the Xantia for Daily Driver duties...

ah hum... like those 4 x 4's that drive around on the school run, seen a few round here with low profile (eg about 2cm rubber) tyres on bigger rims, seemd realy pointless to me, you know, you get a 4x4, and adjust it so you wouldnt realy beable to take it on a proper muddy farmers track or something, thats one of the things that wind me up.......

The results are in, apparantly the British public rated the Calibra ahead of the Traction Avant, the SM faired even worse and is slagged off in its desription....DS not doing as well as I thought (no.22)....nearly all of the top 20 are supecars and the Greatest Car is the Mclaran F1. I followed a lady in a Clio for about 5 miles along the dual carriageway this morning, she was doing 65 in the right hand lane with and empty left hand lane. It seems she needed to be in the right hand lane because she was going to turn right in 5 miles 5 roundabouts time...

Do you mean the whole seat? or just the bit you sit on or the back rest. Years back I used to re-pad using foam the drivers seat in my Austin Maxi 1750 HL (twin carbs).

i removed the driver's seat on the C5 to find out where a bit of play was coming from and it struck me (the idea, no the seat ).

Take a look at these bags as they would make it safer if you ride a bicycle, or a motorbike. They would even be a nice safety idea if you have kids, and they are into riding a bicycle.

If your car should have a problem, then one of these bags could also be a useful warning, and safety aid when placed behind the car, or if it's raining on the...

Just read desciption, totally new suspension...pipework, spheres etc, new clutch, windscreen, rear arm bearings, new alloys and Pirelli tyres (x5), the list goes on and on....one of the best BX's I've seen!!

You can't SORN the car because its not registered in your name.
So you get it registered in your name and INSTANTLY (go straight to jail, do not pass go, do not collect £200) you're liable for not declaring it off the road. I'm sure the nice people at the DVLA will sort this out fairly quickly and efficiently.

They closed it down, i used to get an email every week from them telling me about all the local petrol stations to me... was a fantastic site...

Hey Vanny thats not an intercooler is it? what are you intending to do with that??? paint it red and use it as a bonnet? Hows the BX? diagnosed it yet, my moneys on the turbo falling apart, fit another and it might live again. Congrats on the paddling, its good for getting your hands clean too.

Well people do sell their car, and go for a newer model, but I can't help thinking this seller is going about it the wrong way.
Basically most of us would rather progress from a Mondeo to an Xantia, and not the other way round.

Does she? Poor her! I drove a van version. I seem to remember it feeling slow compared to my 2cv!
But as a man of no technical knowledge, sorry, can't help! Water pumps are usually driven by cambelt though so I imagine the belt has to come off.

The Xantia I had had a 165/70/14 spare wheel instead of the 185/65/14's that were on the car.

Its currently got a standard steel rim with a 185 section tyre on it and frankly with the towbar in situ its a bloody pain to get the wheel on or off the cradle.
Toyed with the idea of fitting a 165 section tyre to see if that improved matters, but just wondered if any of the PSA cars...

I remember someone saying that a wipe over with LHM improves the look of the frosted lenses, failing that try some clear varnish.

Well this is not how your rear lenses should look, they are looking rough. What did the owner clean them with, wire wool ?
It's things like this, along with the worn out rear wiper blade that will ensure that a future owner will wonder what else is wrong with the car, other than what has been disclosed in the listing.

Really glad to see that they are not just crushing them, my local breaker had a ZX diesel last year from the council and there was apparently a ruling that it could not go on the road again, waste, mind you I suppose you would feel a bit uncomfortable if you put it on the road and someone popped up and said oi thats my car!

Interesting. If you go about the HPI check by their proper procedure I understand you will be covered for this loss. Also I note he comments if you bought the EBay item he's offering then you get a mail with advice on not doing what he did in buying.

yes for testing car it will be 20volt range. You shouldnt have anything more than about 14 volts anywhere and it will read right down so you are covered. Continuity is another easy one, its usually marked as a buzzer or something, touch the 2 wires together you will get a reading in ohms on the screen (as near as...

Ooeerr just had Jeans ZX Aura done. Rear brakes freed up, they were sticking a bit, one hand brake cable replaced.
Exhaust emissions very high even after fortes added to fuel and long blast up the local M'way! so had to adjust the fuel pump in the end. Maybe that's why its always used slightly more fuel than the Avantage.
