I was at one of the marinas I visit in my work and parked near a T reg Xsara. The owner strolled over and opened his bonnet took a long and studied look at the engine and then closed the bonnet. The Marina owner passed the comment - 'just checking it is still there?' to be given the reply, 'It's a Volkswagen engine in that and they are all the same, I just wanted to check the cooling pipe layout so I can be sure of the one in my boat'.
We kept quiet until he was out of earshot. His boat has a BMC Captain unit - 4 cylinder 1500 cc diesel specialist marine unit, not even the converted car one!!
