I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

Peugeot 308 injector correction values

I had a problem starting the car the other day, finally got the car started. Think it has a bad Injector so with a combination of cold weather caused this.

I have ran a couple of test and the correction values are below

Cylinder Idle. 1000rpm. 2000rpm

Bigpug chucked the toys out of the pram yesterday. I had to go to Aberdeen, 45 miles distant, and on the way there I thought its not running properly, it seems to be missing a bit. Changed the plugs with the engine out and now faced with a new problem. Despite directly connecting the power directly, the engine will not start with the local temperature around 0C without using spray. There is power going to the plugs. The circuit shows individual supply wires but this car has one only.
The combined resistance is around 4 ohms...

I've had this fault on a few vehicles in cold spells, I don't know how they get on in places like Scandinavia. The main disadvantage of cable operated gearchange. Just put the engine back in and it will not allow reverse. Is the small cable broken or something else? Still no glow plugs either - what a waste of time.
It must have been the cable as when I pulled out the gearbox end of the cable, it was working. I must have stretched it when i pulled the engine.
To change the cable - how does the knob come...

Anyone friend suggested someone here may be able to help me.

I have a boxer van (2006) that recently broke the wiper linkage arm on the drivers side.

I replaced the linkage arm thinking job sorted.

Unfortunately the wipers won't work properly, no matter what possition I put the arms on when the motor runs it want to push the wipers...

Presumably the crank wasn't removed from the motor, so it should be possible to fix it by rotating the mechanism back to the correct orientation. At a guess it's gone over-centre somewhere and is now on the wrong side somehow.

hmm, I have a feeling some gearboxes dont have the level plugs Humph.

Normally I just drain and stick the required amount back in, either 1.8 or 2.2L (I think, depending on box)

I don't understand why oil is escaping the driveshaft though, that implies one of the driveshaft seal's are worn.. has it been leaking before?

I have just bought a 2005 Peugeot 407 hdi 2.0 136 bhp. It starts and runs fine until you get to a steep hill when all of a sudden the engine loses power. even changing down a gear does not help. This may or may not be relevant but I had a similar problem on my 406 with the 110 hp engine below 2000 rpm and I eventually found it was vacuum pump that had gone weak, I replaced it and not only does it pull better but it has improved the brakes as well 8-)

The car has auto a/c, so just buttons on the fascia. The heater fan goes flat out when the ignition is on and can't be lowered. Having done a quick read up I believe the problem is down the the fan resistor unit, or rather a transistor within the unit. Just to say the heater is now working normally, got the parts off ebay using the part no. Jim gave in the xantia thread. 8 quid shipped to France for 2. Only one transistor was knackered but I changed both as a pair Once the blower is removed it took about 30 mins to dismantled, desolder, clean than rebuild. About 5 minutes to refit the blower...

OOps , my mistake with the earth point.
Got some more diagrams here. It seems that the earth coming from pin 13 goes to an earth point near the front left light. It is also the earth point for the abs (unit 7020) which would explain the fault code.

My 46000 mile, 2007 Peugeot 207 1.4 16v hesitates when cold, usually when I get to the top of the street it runs ok and is fine when warm. The car has fsh, just changed the air filter and plugs which showed signs of black soot although the tips were sandy brown (all 4 the same), so I suspected the engine was running rich.

I want to take the engine out sitting on the subframe but after getting the exhaust off, I cannot see how the bolt to the steering rack comes out. It has a round head with some sort of security clip but the nut and bolt just spins with no apparent way of holding it still.

Another irritating little problem! The dipped beam on my 2005 307 hits the road about 6 feet in front of the car, not very safe. I adjusted the lights using the wall method and that makes the dipped beam acceptable but now the main beams are like anti aircraft lights. I fiddled around with them and when you adjust the low beams the high beams move...

My 607 failed its mot recently, the rear passenger side droplink was hitting the coil spring. Something i didnt notice on the lift but with the car on the ground and a jack pushing the hub up i can see the link is hitting the spring:

On the other side there is much more clearance between the spring and the anti roll bar.
I cant see any play...

Ive been under this car with a screwdriver & hammer, the body is in good condition the front and rear subframes have quite a bit of surface rust but they are still structurally sound as its all fairly thick steel used for these areas.
This was a £200 workhorse, so i havent really spent much time rustproofing it as i never intended to keep it too...

Hi there, I have a 2002 peugeot partner 1.9 diesel without turbo (yes you guessed right, the fast one with 69hp :lol: )
The car had a bad sound coming from the diesel pump and was leaking.
Sounded like the bearing in the pump was about to break.
So i bought a second hand pump and changed it.
Now the car won't start.
I'm 100% sure the timing...

Thanks for your answer. I've just finished replacing the immobilizer pretty s**t job.
Hopefully it will run tomorrow after i bleed the air out of the system

Peugeot 206 Engine bay wiring loom

and specifically the three plugs that go into the Sagem ECU.

Looks like its one of the plugs that go into the ECU that has been causing all my Pxxxxx issues.

I've found a secondhand wiring loom on eBay, but does anyone know if its possible to buy just the plugs that go into the ECU, who they're made by, part no etc?

Thanks guys just the info i was looking for Xantia V6 yes the fuel consumption in service is supposed to be down on the official figures, and i am looking 2016 onwards.

I did not realise they could still suffer from coking up 407iain - i hope Xantia V6's advice was correct and the new ones are less prone to it.

Handbrake not working

Hello to cut a long story short the car had a new brake servo, new rear calipers, discs, pads and handbrake cables. So the back all new now 4 or 5 months ago.

The front today have new discs and pads so there new now and work fine.

The big problem I'm still having the car seems to hold backwards better down hill then facing forward down hill....

I have found that Ferodo or Mintex pads have good friction characteristics. Genuine pads should also be OK. Check eBay for any bargains in those brands.

I found that the wastegate pipe was disconnected and the solenoid had an end stop on the pipe, so I connected and it made no difference, I did notice that the vacuum was a bit feeble so I checked for leaks and couldn't find any, I then went to my trusty spare parts dept in the field and removed the vacuum pump, fitted it to mine and eureka, not...

My Peugeot Partner is having some issues recently.

On a cold start the idle is rough (revs keep fluctuating to 1100 rpm back to normal idle) but is fine once the engine is warm.

Also while stopped at traffic lights, if it is revved up it has a lot of rev hang and takes longer than it used to to return to idle.

Hi, my Peugeot is a 206 Look, 1360cc, MA5 gearbox, 2003, 47000 miles.

In the last few hundred miles the gearchange has become a problem.

1st gear has to be selected while rolling to a stop, otherwise it clashes.
2nd gear is 'harshly notchy' when selected at normal road speeds, smooth if the engine is revved before selecting, smooth if selected...

Hi All - I'm back again and have to admit to some wishfull thinking. Having replaced the gearbox oil there was a great improvement (though not perfect) and I was happy to continue using the vehicle. It is still improved but has regressed so:

Hope this doesn't sound too stupid, but... what is the top plastic/rubber seal on the diesel injectors actually for?

I know the lower copper seal maintains compression in the cylinder so why is another top one needed?

Hi my 2007, 207 1.4 16v petrol has a stutter/hesitation below 1800rpm when cold. The car has covered 47k with fsh. I have cleaned the throttle body, the plugs are a good colour, the engine bay is clean and dry etc and no fault codes are found on Peugeot planet/diagbox ?

Yes! Mine started doing this yesterday. Must have been bad as even my missus noticed it!

Hi all

My daughter's 206 has just started coming up with P-0134 Upstream Oxygen Sensor Intermittent and management light on.

I read and cleared the fault with Planet yesterday but the engine light came on about 20 mins after she drove off.

New Lambda sensor fitted took for a drive and after the same sort of distance 10-12 miles, the MIL on...

Generally speaking, they are a good car. The choice of which specification must be influenced by how you intend to use it. I am happy with our 308 CC 155 THP, but I know that specification would not suit everyone.
