When i put on the key...no response at all.. not cranking.. no clicking sound.. no dash lights.. completely dead. Only response is when i open or close door it show mileage for few seconds only and that's it. Battery is fully charged, earthing on body and gearbox is fine, all fuses are fine. Only horn, hazard light is working on Eco Mode. Can you please advise what could be wrong please?

Welcome, Mahesh!
Are you sure? This is often the symptoms of a failed modern battery, fine one minute, completely dead the next.

How old is the battery? If it's old and can't hold a decent amount then, even if it's fully charged, this can cause problems.
Have you checked the connections to the battery? These can corrode and also, if they are original clamps, they can lose their tightness.

Thanks Richard & Paul. New battery replaced 2 months ago, multi meter voltage checked showing 12V. Battery wire no corrosion and connection is fine since horn, hazard light working in Eco mode. Also while door is being closed or opened system shows initial mileage indicator and three beeps for few seconds. When I put key to start absolutely no response or dash lights. Could it be ECU?

Do you have a second key that you could try?

I hve plain spare key (without chip) so car will never start with that. I had tried spare key when I bought the car 2 yrs back, the best that spare key would do is only crank the car but engine would never run.
I am planning to go tomorrow were my car has been stranded, and try with spare key to see if it cranks (although doubtful). Wanted to check in this forum if there are important tips that i should look for.
Would it be possible that car is not recognizing my original key for some reason fr key chip code damaged or so reason ? But would that not at least light the dash board lights?

Yesterday which checking fuse continuity using multi-meter, I found Fuse No.1 (in attached) was blown, I joined direct wire but still car did not start.
Anyone has Puegeot 206 petrol (year 2005) fuse diagram stating which fuse number is for what functionality ?

Shorting a blown fuse with a piece of wire is a very BAD idea!
Did you do a BSI reset after changing the battery?

Thanks Wurly and everyone for extending your help!
**Problem has been resolved, car started**
Towed the car to electrician, although he too was about to give up hope that my car would start after checking all the fuses!
By chance when he was trying to pull out one of the fuse from the 'Engine compartment fuse box', the whole fuse box came out completely, with thick wires underneath the fuse box (it sounded as if he'd broken the plastic locks of the fuse box!!)
I told him to check if there were any fuses beneath the fuse fox, and bingo...... we found several big sized 30A fuses fixed "BELOW" the fuse box. And one of the 30A Ignition fuse was blown!! The car started the minute he replaced the fuse!
Looks like Peugeot people has deliberately placed main fuses hidden below the top engine compartment fuses so they can milk tons of money from innocent people for fixing this simple problem.
I thought ECU computer would have gone bad, just lucky, it was only the blown fuse!
Hope this resolved diagnosis helps any other people who might be facing similar dead car situation symptom.

Those are called the maxi-fuses. They are mentioned in the handbook but only to say that they are a dealer only replacement item.

Maybe as it is such a high current fuse that owner-replacement may cause a fire or other serious issue if the fault were not addressed prior to replacement.
Many of us have been in there though

Thanks myglaren, Paul and wurlycorner for your response.
I wish I'd known where maxi fuse was located earlier which could have saved me trouble of Towing the car and also paying USD 40 to mechanic for just identifying location and replacing the fuse!
Anyways.. all well that ends well!
