I found that the wastegate pipe was disconnected and the solenoid had an end stop on the pipe, so I connected and it made no difference, I did notice that the vacuum was a bit feeble so I checked for leaks and couldn't find any, I then went to my trusty spare parts dept in the field and removed the vacuum pump, fitted it to mine and eureka, not only does the car go better, pulls from below 1500 rpm now, but the brakes are better too. 8-)

The performance must have been like it was since I had the car but it was only when I got the second one I had something to compare it with.
