Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

I got a stainless exhaust system 2 and half inch all the way to the cat. I got a bit of the downpipe which joins the middle section 2 and half inch to 2 and 1/4 inch.

I know the standard hdi and xud cats are not 2 and half inch joning the middle section. So what size are they?

Hope someone can help, the heater fan on my sons car runs at fool speed when you start the car, on my Xantia there is a Module with 2 transisters which I have replaced a couple of times but the Peugeot is different can some one help please.

Anyone know where the glow-plug relay is on a 1997 'R' 306 D-Turbo?

My son's will intermittently refuse to start and the glow plug indicator doesn't illuminate.

Had a bit of a poke around today with no success other than it is starting with no problems :?
Couldn't locate the relay though.

I think it varies, some models might use one of the sensors in the thermostat housing and some will have an ambient air temp sensor in the module itself.

This is a bit of a strange question I know, but does anybody happen to know, were there any vehicles which had the XU/HDi family but also had 4wd?

I know there was a 4wd Berlingo and possibly a few others available, but I am not sure if they were done by a 3rd party company.

I think they don't have a door pin switch they rely on the actuator itself, that may be faulty. It may be easier if the door wiring is OK (I think Planet can do an actuator test too) to replace the actuator in the door.

There a relay on the passenger side morette headlamps there all connected up the wiring. But apart from the red and black wire.

So I'm wandering were do the red and black wire go?

Red to fused 30A positive supply, black to ground.
These two wires supply current to the high beam lamps and use the existing switched feed as a trigger for the relay.

Well my recent attempt to remove a broken glow plug tip that snapped off 23mm and left it in the cylinder head has took an interesting but different turn for the worst, however i am still trying to remain optimistic to the last along with the cylinder head coming off last too! [-X

how deep in the hole is the broken piece of the plug? if you can get to it and get the ceramic/element out then a long self tapping screw with a large washer gently screwed into the tip might stop it going into the cylinder.

Another way I have seen somewhere was to remove the injector and use a compressor to put positive pressure in the cylinder...

I got 2 multi meters but not the best at using them so any help would be great. I've got the door card of ready to start.

The brakes on the van are playing up a bit. They work well but the feel is not good, its like they are spongy but hard to press at the same time. then they stick on and i have to put foot under pedal and pull it up.I stopped on a hill and it just sat there with no brakes on. It's good for hill starts! The front discs and pads look new, rear drums...

This is an 05 Clio 1.4 with oily goo inside the header tank,is does not use oil or water and runs perfectly,exhaust emissions passed MOT today.
Do these Clio`s suffer the same head gasket problem that all Peugeot TU`s do??

Hey Guys,

Does anyone have a location diagram that shows the location of each component for the injection system on the 306?

The HDi wiring diagram shows relay 1304 which I'm pretty sure is the brown relay behind the ECU.

The other relay I need to know what it is and where it is is labelled 1203.

Our 306 won't start as it's got a broken wire...

Hi All

The radiator fan on my 2003 406 2.2hdi stopped working about 3 months ago. I have put my Peugeot Planet on and came back with a error for the fan speed inconsistent. On checking the fan motor I found it had seized up. I have now found a replacement fan and fitted it. I have check the fan unit works using the planet software fan speed test....

On checking the loom I found that water had corroded one of the wires for the low speed fan circuit. having now replaced this wire the fan now runs fine at low speed and cuts in at about 92 degrees C. So problem solved.

My wipers awhile back were going abit funny. But today there clicking on auto 1. If you click down it will stick were you want the wipers on the screen. But on auto they will click and move abit.

I can hear the relay but wandering is it the relay or motor or stalk?

The relay inside the car on the fuse box?

My wife left the lights on and ran the battery flat, it recharged OK except there is a high frequency whine coming from the back, its so piercing that she won't drive it. I want to get the driver side remote central locking working.

So I've checked my driver side door loom in the rubber cover part. I checked it and its been repaired before not very good either. So I went to look around the scrap yards for anther decent one there all broken to.

But I managed to get one from the scrap yard with just 4 wires...

I have just bought a 2005 307 1.6 hdi with 70k on the clock. When collected, it started ok from cold however there was white/greyish smoke from the exhaust. When revved hard there was quite a cloud, however it seemed to disappear on the journey home and when revved hard there was nothing visible in the mirror, or to relatives in the car...

I have started to strip it down tonight, there is some black oil in the pipework from the turbo and a fair bit in the intercooler, which I have left to drain out. Presumably this isn't right? If the turbo oil seals had failed, would the oil from the turbo bearings go straight down the exhaust, just wondering how oil gets in the intercooler?

mot is getting closer so far both shocks, disc a pads on the front and a new cat fitted along with wipers but im slightly worried about the handbrake.

it holds well but the problem is the balance, one wheel seems to hold more than the other and whilst adjusting the nut by the hanbrake lever one cable seems more taught than the other. i hope it is...

Although someone may shout, once they were working *properly* I'd get an assisant to hold the brakes on (to expand the adjuster) then adjust them a little bit through the bolt hole.

This way you could get them about perfect without any binding too and they would not adjust themselves up too far either. Works best on a 206 (assuming the clips...

As above, if they are available will have to be ordered so you'd need the code number from old (lost?) key in most cases as well assuming that's not what you've posted.

A third party tyre supplier etc may be able to remove the locking nuts and replace them with suitable locking bolts as well.

Seeing as yours has happened just after a clutch change, there's a good chance that it is the linkage related but, if not, apparently there was a known (though fairly rare) problem...

I got standard 14inch alloy wheels. So is it best to track them on these wheels or on the 16 or 17inch ones when I get some for laser tracking.

But wont the bigger wheels allways be out or they ok on these cars once tracked?

If the wheels you have on now are straight (I mean along their outer rim as that's where the gauges touch) it should not really make much difference to be honest.

If in doubt, have it done when the new wheels are on.

I run my 306 hdi empty and the light comes on for 100miles. So then I filled the car up £90 to the top nearly in shock at this point lol

Thinking when its going to end but luckly £90 was it lol.

I thought I wont be doing this again in a rush lol

The main reason was to see the fuel gauge working correct doing to being low along time. Its now...

I need some aftermarket wheels bolts and locking wheels nuts. I've got the alloy wheels with 20mm spacers so thats why I wanted the right alloy wheel bolts. I've seen some with the details below.

Been reading around for how to disable my keypad for the immobilizer.
Reason I want to do this is I bought the car second hand, they didn't know the PIN themselves so as you can understand the 1 key has been getting a thrashing and is close to giving up the ghost.

The config (if it can do that or not) for it lives in the CPH or the ECU (CPH on diesels for sure, petrols could be either) as far as I know. They keypad is just a dumb item.

i cant get any fuel to the injectors ...

The inline filter does not seem to be available either, I remember we ordered a new pipe to see if it came with that and it did not so I threw the filter out of my TD, and it was fine without I ran it for 7 years like that.

Alright fellas :))
I have a 2002 2l HDi Rapier 307 sitting here, it wont start :(
If I bump start it, 2nd gear, pop the clutch turning the key, it bursts into life. There is no smoke form the engine, the engine and turbo pull well, no missing of juddering, firing on all pots well, infact it runs perfectly and pulls fine.
But once you turn it off...

I would suspect the HP diesel pump, I had this problem with my C5, it got progressively more difficult to start when cold and was almost impossible when hot. I bought a secondhand one off ebay for £55 and changed the cam belt and water pump when I fitted it, it starts spot on now. Could possibly be the common rail pressure sensor but I changed it...

I replace oil in gearbox be4 and when I turn the car on it have a oil leak near the clutch. I fill the gearbox with 2litters oil. I want to know if the problem is gearbox or it has excess oil. I have a peugeot 206 1.9 diesel.thank you

Just bought a 406 2.0 hdi. Full service history, money spent on it whenever needed, lovely. Just been going through the wealth of history that I got with it and noticed that it's had 1100 quid spent sorting it out after petrol was put in it. Now, it runs great and doesn't appear to be any the worse for wear from this.

Not once but twice I filled my ZX TD with petrol and both times not realising and driving till it spluttered to a halt. Don't ask! Just drained the tank,filled with diesel and off it went, no apparent problems. I went on to wear out much of the rest of the car many thousands of miles later but the engine was fine.

Could I ask if anyone on this forum knows if the later three-spoke 205 GTI steering wheel is identical (boss and rim diameter etc.) to the similar looking 405 one?

I've found a good condition 205 one which I'd like to get for it. Have already learnt that 305 wheels do not fit the 405!

Hi all

I'm planning to salvage the two remote plip keys and remote receiver unit from the roof from a scrapped Peugeot 405; if I fit the receiver unit into my 405 (which only ever had one key), and put my blade into the other plip will it all work? Both the cars have the keypad immobiliser, and as far as I'm aware no key-based immobiliser system...

just a update.Engine's out with gearbox now. swapping over all ancillaries to go on the 1.9, decided to go down the power steering with using a 106 electric pump. as regards with intercooler I need a 405 inlet manifold as the 306 inlet has a square type fitment on the top exit to the cooler not normally a round fitment where you can adapt a samco...

Hi all,

Searched the forum but couldn't find anything similar.

Recently bought a 206 1.9 non turbo diesel. 140k on it I got service bits and a timing belt kit, since fitting the kit there appears to be a ticking coming from that side of the engine, I didn't have the belt tensioning gauge, the only thing I can think of is possibly belt to tight?...

Fill it slowly as well , that does help. Typically say a 30 seconds a litre to fill it, any faster is too fast.

There's a bleed screw on the heater hose I think on these, I'm pretty sure there's one around the thermostat housing too but I've not seen a DW8 for a long time.

Mine has the disc/drum brakes and the handbrake has never been much good, I have changed the disc/drum, brake pads/shoes and both the rear cables its still pretty useless, I can only get it to hold if I pull it up really hard and then my wife can't release it, the shoes seem to be wearing more on the n/s than o/s, the adjusters seem to work OK and...

There's one bulb for the odometer display. Its actually slightly different to the rest of the illumination bulbs, in that its classed as a long life bulb although a normal one will fit I'm sure. The panel comes out quite easily once you've carefully prised the trim off with a suitable blunt tool.

Just wondering if anyone knows whether there is much difference between the roof rail dimensions of the 307 and the 406? I'm looking to buy a set of bars on ebay for my 307, but they are for the latter apparently. Any chance they might fit?
I've googled dimensions etc, but not found any info. I'm not near my 307 so can't measure myself....

I have a 1998 406 Peugeot and as I was exiting the expressway I used my gears to slow down when I engaged 2nd gear at 75 kmh the gearbox disengaged and I was freewheeling, after braking to 40 kmh I tried to accelerate around the roundabout, there was no traction and the engine was reving at 3000 rpm. :cry:

Mechanical default (all electrovalves off) is reverse, if it was not reversing then it's a control issue or complete lack of fluid pressure.

I'd fit a brand new valve block, which is about $1200 landed presently. Try Midi Auto...

I've just had a spring break, and need to whip the strut out. Anyone know how to access the top of the strut ? I can't see the strut top with a quick look, so maybe I need to start removing other stuff ?

I'm planning to change the springs and shocks. Is it worth spending another 50 quid to sort the top bearings ?

Hi, I've a new foam on the way for Fiat Ulysse (C8 Pug 807 in disguise) as the old driver's side one is saggy. It's only the seat squab, not the backrest. I'm assuming that the foam is glued (or sprayed) onto the sear cloth. Has anyone any experience of doing this? TIA!

How practical is it to find a new Drivers Seat in a foreign breakers yard (which would be the front passenger seat in a LHD car) while I'm away?
