Hi,
New to the forums and looking for help, I have a 306 XS 18 16v that warped the head, I sourced an S16 engine loom and key, everything installed, engine turns over but she isn't getting fuel or spark.
I can only deduce that the immobilizer is on
The car it came from is now crushed so if it had a keypad it's long gone.
Any advice you guys can give me is really appreciated.

Re: 306 S16 immobilizer issue
What year is your car & what year is the engine & loom from?
Does your car have a keypad immobiliser or a transponder key immobiliser? im a bit confused as you mention both keypads & changing the engine loom and key, there would be no need to use the key from the other car if it had a keypad.
First thing you need to confirm is if the ECU is powered up or not, are you getting 5v feeds at the MAP sensor & TPS ? Can diagnostic talk to the ECU?
When you say its not getting fuel do you mean the fuel pump is not running or the injectors are not opening?

Re: 306 S16 immobilizer issue
My car is a 99 V reg 1.8 16v XS, the head engine was ***** so replaced it with an S16 engine, which I bought with loom and key.
I do not know if the car it came from had a keypad, I got the engine loom and key after the car was broken.
Engine turns and has power, so I need to check out the things you listed.
Apologies I'm not a mechanic in anyway shape or form, so I'm a total beginner to this stuff, the mechanic that put in the engine is at a loss to why she won't fire off.

Ok if you have a pic of the 'new' key we should be able to tell if it was keypad or transponder immobiliser.
If it is from a car with transponder you would also need the matching CPH unit to for the ECU to unlock, The ECU, CPH & transponder chip in the key are all a matched set.
Do you know the year of the car the replacement engine came from?
