Peugeot 207 drivers door lock

Unread post by PC2CV »

I have a 2012 Peugeot 207 3 door

The central locking seems to lock itself if the drivers door is closed, this seems to happen as soon as the door is closed. If the keys are in the ignition it doesnt happen, and going to the passenger door it doesnt do it either. I have sat in other 207s at the auctions and they do not do it.

So far to try and fix the issue i have sprayed WD40 around the latch where it is accessable. Is it likely that the latch mechanism or some switch inside it needs to be replaced?

Try locking and unlocking the driver's door with the key only (not the fob) several times, locking and unlocking. Keep doing that for a while and see if that resolves the issue.

Next you can try this reset procedure:

viewtopic.php?f=51&t=61997

Failing that, it may possibly be a wiring issue - possibly in the area between the A Pillar where the wires come through the bulkhead, through a rubber guard and into the door. The rubber guard should be easy to remove (some are like a grommet and just pull out, others have a twisting locking mechanism), where you can inspect the wiring to see if there is a short or broken wire.
