White Expert Paint Code

Unread post by Wookey »

I thought I posted about this already, but I can't find a relevant post.
My van is now 20 years old and needs a bit of painting for touch-up.
I found info here about point codes being found on the door tyre pressure label, or a stencil on the strut turrets. Unfortunately I don't have a paint code in either of those places, so had to ask local Peugeot dealer.

They were very helpful. Took the chap a while to find the code as it wasn't in the place he normally looks, but the answer is that a standard white van from 1997 (is the same white for the whole 20 years?) has code PWOP. ("Banquise White")

I thought it worth posting here for other people, as there are an awful lot of white vans out there, which presumably have the same paint, and some of them probably don't have the code printed anywhere useful, like mine.

Pop up your VIN if you want the code confirmed - simples!

You missed a 2 out in the VIN, but I have it now anyway

EWP 'Bianca White' or also called 'Blanc Banquise'

But also code 249 'Blanc Banquise'

I use several sites for this, but the VIN helps me confirm other details used to determine the code - your Van is 1990 so can be a little early for some sites databases.

We had a paint code puzzler for an XM this week. The car (in Australia) has been decently resprayed at some point, but the paint code itself had been over-painted. Service Citroen can be a bit thin on individual factory characteristics for Series 1 XM's, and so I e-mailed them direct, and they came up with the code and colour (Meteor Grey) within a couple of days.

Had to smile, though, as having supplied with them with the car's full VIN (and ORGA/RP number), they came back and asked what model of car it was!!! #-o

I had always thought that for later XM's, where Characteristics lists the vehicles' equipment and finish in copious detail, paint colour would be included - but no. Upholstery and trim colour is there, but not body colour - at least not for my own car. Odd.

Thanks for looking that up Marc. My van is actually 1997 though - was that just a typo?
So any of 'PWOP' '249' 'Bianca White', 'Banquise White' or 'Blanc Banquise' should be the right thing.
Which turns out to be HWHI12 in Holts spray-paint.

Yes, sorry the build date is 5th June 1997. I tend to check the warranty start date when I'm doing a lot of posts - as it is easier to see - but on some older vehicles (pre 2000) it sometimes defaults to 1990. I should of checked your RPO directly, so no panic. :-D
