Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Rummaging through the pile of CDs/DVDs on my shelf I found a three disk set of Peugeot TIS / EPC Service box SB18, thought I'd see if they're still of any use.
Got as far as attempting to install them then got the 'Enter the code' message but I don't have the code, any ideas?

Hi there. Am about to attempt (finally) the replacement of the two main solenoids for the upgraded Borg Warner type, to hopefully cure the wretched 'snow and sport' limp mode problem. I embarked on this last year but hit the problem of how to upgrade the Transmission ECU for compatibility for the BW solenoids. I have now succeeded in doing this...

No contacts now Marc. When I had the Vel Satis I had the cd disc with every part no and drawings plus tech workshop manual. I just walked in with part no and he had the same disc as I had. You would need a disc for a car with DPO box...

So my 508 hsas been sitting a couple days and when I started it today, i could hardly get it to rev from idle. It seemed to rev ok above idle, if I kept the turbo lit. I have a soundbite but don't see any way to add it here.
Could it be that the start/stop battery, which is as old as the car(2013) is done and me leaving the car for a couple days,...

Hi, I've been given the job of rebuilding the cylinder head on this car. The problem I have is it came as box of bits. I've ground new valves in and am ready to fit the camshafts. With the numbers I have on the shafts I can't identify which is inlet and which is exhaust.

When I was looking around with the Diagbox I checked the FAP and Eolys - both (relying on memory) have about 50k left. I filled the Adblue before leaving the UK. The service interval is set at 20km and arduous service wasn't ticked. No SERVICE lamp illuminated.

My wife`s 1999 406 GTX has been on lockdown SORN for four months. Taxed it and got it ready today but the bonnet is stuck. The nearside catch releases the bonnet that side but the offside is firmly down.

I checked the oil and added a little to top up
Then it came up low oil pressure
So I changed the oil pressure switch

After a long run the idle speed on our 2014 3008 1.6 HDi drops to about 740 rpm (I have a reader that I can plug into the OBD port) as opposed to a normal speed of about 820rpm. Was very familiar with an R plate and a M plate 106's, both 1.5 DERV's, so a bit older than yours; both now gone.... luved em, 60+mpg in 'real world' driving and enough poke for the same. We took one all the way to Nairn, four up (400 ish miles each way), it was more comfy than you might think.

Hi, i want toask, are the radiator fans supposed to switch both at the same time? Because at the moment only one is switching on. I tested the non working fanby wiring it directly to the battery and it is switching on.switched relays from workjng fan to non working fan still it doesnt switch on. Any ideas?

We've had it for a number of years and it has generally run well and is at 100,00 miles now.

Just had a Hunter 4-wheel alignment check after some brand new tyres and here are the results:

I'm no expert, but I believe them when they say the front needs adjustment. They've quoted me £50 for that. The rear apparently also needs a minor adjustment, but they said that the bolt looks so frail that they won't risk it without replacing it...

I recently bough a Peugeot Partner 1.6 hdi 2008.

It's terribly sluggish under load, on hills etc. Even a slight incline causes the speed to drop and I have to work down the gears.

There is a loud whine, almost like an air raid siren that is in sync with the engine revs. Turbo perhaps? It's also black smokey when the engine is struggling up...

Can you elaborate a bit more? Do you mean if the car is converted from being a right hand drive to a left hand drive? if thats what you mean I cant think of any reason why it would affect the fuel gauge.

Had the timing belt and crankshaft pully fitted today (thank you @GiveMeABreak)

Asked them if they would check out the knocking from the front end what I've been trying to track down for months, which they did as the NSF shocker, and theres play in the OSFtrack rod end that could be causing it too.

Theres also always been a bit of an oil leak...

My wife just got back from a long run in the 3008 and the idle speed has dropped to 740 rpm which is very lumpy but smooths out as soon as you touch the throttle. I didn't use an injector seat cutter for re-seating the injector although to be honest neither of the injectors I removed were leaking or had any deposits on the seats that I could see, the ports were also clean and dry.

Just replaced timing belt due to snapping. Issue I have is that there is no hole to lock off on the crankshaft pulley. There is a hole on the flange that sits on the pulley, but this was dislodged, so not in correct place until I can lock off the crank. I've locked off the cam shaft etc but at a loss on how to set the crankshaft. Does anyone know...

Got a 2011 3008 1.6HDi SR (112)

110k on the clock

Theres a load tapping coming from the engine which I think is the injectors. It's progressively getting worse, 15k ago the noise wasn't there at all.

A few garages have looked at it and said don't worry about it, the noise is normal, but I'm thinking, if it is normal then why wasn't it doing it...

I had mine cleaned, tested and one refurbished at a place near Chester Le Street some years ago for around £100. Big improvement.
A different place in IIRC Blyth did the ones in my previous C5 that was leaping all over (engine, that is).
Both done through different mechanics with excellent results.

Hi guys, my mums 208 1.0 is not blowing cold air through the air conditioning feature. The blower speeds work fine, hot and 'ambient' cold but no ice cold like before.

I was going to check the fuse, F29 but accessing it is very difficult and impossible through the hatch. What do I need to screw off to get in here and is it an involved job?

A full service will vacuum everything out, disinfect the system and the replace with the correct oil and gas quantities. This is a bit more time consuming of course - but they have a machine that automates the process. A top up will just...

Could anybody tell me if it is necessary to prime the fuel system after the fuel filter has been changed and a pair of fuel injectors replaced, as on my engine I cannot see any priming bulb.
Is it somehow self priming or do I need a syphon arrangement to draw fuel from the tank and then push it back through the new filter removing the air, and...

Well I had to use my RAC card for the first time ever last weekend.
The alternator drive belt tensioner had failed and the belt chewed up.
Have ordered like for like Gates tensioner via ebay but unless I go to Peugeot I'm struggling to find the definitive correct belt and idler pulley.
Weirdly, even the dealer couldn't tell me what tensioner it...

I managed to go online and cross referenced using the Gates numbers. Got a like for like Gates tensioner including post for £33 which is a fraction of dealer price.
This turned out to be the left tensioner. The right tensioner was OK but the pulley wheel

I have found the issue it was a fan motor, it won't turn over when I connect the battery but if I spin free the fan with my hand, it go round but judder then it lose the speed and it stops. Now is fixed after purchase a used fan motor.

Sounds like an emission issue.

First of all - many faults and issues relating to the engine management will trigger the back up mode to prevent damage. That is why your cruise control and other functions will be disabled whilst this fault is in in effect. That will almost certainly be the same for your ESP / ASR system as some of these functions...
